Miah we will miss you!

Miah, we heard this morning that you had passed away.

This news was devastating and unbelievable. It took hours for the news to sink in.
How could you not be in our lives anymore? How could there be no more Facebook updates, no more texts, and no more Wednesday blog posts from you? In fact, maybe the news hasn't sunk in for us yet. Maybe it will take months.

But tomorrow will be a big step on the road to understanding your death. The day that was supposed to be the finish line for you – the end of your treatment – will instead be a day to remember and mourn you.

We will always remember you. How could we ever forget those many things that made you the one and only Miah? You allergies, your "dirty mind" ("balls"!), your fierce love of Anne Hathaway and Daniel Radcliffe… We will love you and miss you for the rest of our lives.

You will forever be in our hearts.

84th Annual Academy Awards!

Here it is, ladies! The 2012 Oscar nominations. Here is my suggestion on how to cast your ballots.

When it's your day/turn to vote:
  • Copy and paste from the day before. For example, I would copy and paste Sari's list.
  • Put your name in ALL-CAPS BOLD next to the one you think will win, in every category. (Only one guess per category.) If anyone has already put down their name, just pop yours next to it.
Example:

Let's say one of Miah's categories looks like this:
Best Achievement in Sound Editing
"Drive"
"The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo"
MIAH
"Hugo"
"Transformers: Dark of the Moon"
"War Horse"

If, the next day, Evie also wanted to vote for "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo", she would add:
Best Achievement in Sound Editing

Breaking Dawn, Footloose, Menchies & More!

Good morning everyone! Sorry I'm blogging late...I was busy yesterday and didn't have time :(
So this weekend, I had a lot of fun - we had a floor pizza party, saw two movies, did a lot of baking, and of course, homework :p

On Friday night, I watched the new Breaking Dawn movie (part 1) for the first time, and I really liked it! Some parts I thought were kind of weird/random/awkward, but I did like the majority of it! Once again, I'm team Jacob for his abs, but team Edward for personality. Also, in this movie, Edward was looking a lot less pale than in the previous movies!!
On Saturday night, we went to Menchies (that frozen yogurt place) and watched Footloose (the new one). Ok first of, Menchies is awesome!!! If you haven't been there already, I highly recommend it! (There's one located in Toronto, fyi). Also, the Footloose movie was really good! Or at least that's what I thought..but I haven't seen the original, so I had nothing to compare it to. Apparently the original was a lot better? Either way, it was still fun and made me wish I knew how to dance :p Oh, and by the way, the main guy in the movie is pretty attractive? ;)

Also, my new obsession is this band called One Direction! Has anyone heard of them!? I'm kind of obsessed. They are a British and Irish band. Their newest music video for the song "One Thing" just came out, but I also highly recommend the song "What Makes You Beautiful." Check them out!!!

2. One Thing:

I guess I truly am a teeny-bopper...what can I say? haha :) I hope you enjoy the songs!

Next week I'm going to do a post of these recipes my roommates and I are trying! Have an AMAZING week :)

My dream wish....=D

Good Friday afternoon ladies and gentlemen!!

Its a frosty, and cold Friday day today but that won't stop my mood from changing. This week I got news from my friend that her old coach was looking for a new part-boarder for her beautiful horse, Ballagh.

Of course I quickly e-mailed her saying that I was very interested in, and asked all the important questions; how much, what would it consist of, would I be able to show, and so on. Within hours I got a response from her answering all my questions, with attachments of videos of her horse, and a questions of if I wanted to come and give her a try, and have a lesson on her. Naturally I brought all of this information to my parents, and made my case and they each took a couple minutes to discuss and came back to me with great new of "yes, if this trail lesson works out and I like the horse, then I will be able to continue riding her with this new coach."

The best part is, even though I won't be doing cross country anymore, I will have an opportunity to be able to ride in Trillium jumpers classes, and slowly gain points, and if i gain enough points, and win enough shows I will be able to have the opportunity to ride and compete in next years Royal Winter Fair. Which in the horse community is a huge achievement. I would be competing alongside great riders, which would be a fabulous opportunity.

Anyway, That is my big new for the week. Haha. It's been an uneventful week at school, just the normal projects, and such. Although in my marketing class, we did a fun activity where everyone in our class (ie. all 75 of us) had to make a laughing circle. What we did was one person would lay down, and another person would put their head on that persons stomach and so on until we got an awkward looking circle. And what was suppose to happen is with the motion of your head on someones stomach who is laughing, which is bobbing your head up and down quickly, is suppose to make you start to laugh. Which in turn will make the person with their head on your stomach start laughing, and so on. It's a great ice breaker if you don't know anyone, but it you have a very large personal bubble...that it isn't as great. Haha. But it was fun anyway. Everyone really got into it, and had fun.:)
Anyway, I will like you all get back to your days. Next week will be my update of what happens tomorrow afternoon and let you all know if my dream horse has come or not.:P
See you all next week!!
Cheers!

*Cough cough....fucking sore throat >:(

Well it's been a while guys, I forgot to post last Thursday and then I got sick on the weekend and honestly didn't quite feel up to blogging anything :(
But then just like 10 minutes ago I realized I had ALMOST forgotten again - but look! Here I am, not only blogging, but blogging on time. I know, I know, sometimes I impress even myself :P

SO, basically nothing has been happening in my life because I was sick all week. You know when people talk about the "Man Cold"? I think I have the girl version of that. I'm a major wimp when it comes to getting sick, I hate it, it's inconvenient and it hurts. I've honestly had this stupid sore throat for like EVER. Or at least since last Friday. Which is a long time, trust me. The thing that really bothers me is that I gave the cold to my sister by accident and then she proceeded to get over it in like two days...alone again, naturally (with my illness that is :P).

ANYwho, it sounds like everyone has been super busy and having some pretty good times, or at least interesting times. I guess that's the weird thing about not having a job or school right now; I don't notice the changes in schedule except where it affects me like when I get to see you guys more often!

Okay, not sure what else to write and I'm a little tired so time to sign off. I will say I'm in favor of re-instating some form of friday question again if only to help inspire me in my blogging :)
Till next time

Long Day

So I'm more then halfway done with my radiation! Yeah and I'm done two weeks of school, cause well remember I only go to school Monday-Wednesday. I'm enjoying the topics of class, but I dunno I'd rather be sleeping at the moment.
Sorry this blog might be lame, I'm tired from long day. I had radiation at 9, got to school at 10:30 aka two hours early for my class (my aunt offered to drive me after radiation), then I got picked up and 3, and well after running a few errands didn't get home until 5... which is a fail in the department of radiation makes you tired, though just a cat nap will fix that. And now I'm on new meds that make you drowsy mixed in with 11:30 at night not a good mix. By the way my new drug, I apparently could make money selling it to kids at our old high school. My mom had to show ID to pick it up. There's a word that accompanies drugs (like drug drugs) that you can sell, but you see sleepy makes for no good memory.
Anyway I'm kinda excited about two of my three classes cause a cute guy is in 'em( he could be in my Tuesday class also, but that's a lecture aka 100something people), he was also in my class last semester. But well there's a couple of things about guys right now for me. First I don't feel confident enough with my looks, like I can't think of a guy who'd want to date a bald chick. Also I want to well get my life back fully, to a point where I'm actually happy about everything. Finally and this only applies to the male species at my school, there's a very high-- for lack of a better fraise (sp? I'm too tired to care!)-- gay rate, so umm cute guys must be liked with caution.
Sari, I'm glad you enjoyed your long weekend. I remember when I lived in New York we got that day off too, though prior to that holiday I'd never heard of Martin Luther King Jr. Also if I remember correctly not everyone got that holiday off, I'm pretty sure my Dad had to work, and it was just me and my brother who stayed home (my mom too of course, though she didn't have a working visa yet so she wasn't allowed to work... I've never talked to her about it but I feel like she hated that.) Lee I really like your idea of asking questions again, its something I miss too. I guess we'll figure something out. Maybe still do a weekly question though rotate who asks it?
Ok now this is bad, computer is about to die. Haven't plugged it in since school (my classes are at max 4 hours and since I've figured thats about the same amount of time my battery lasts why bring a charger? Though one day, I will regret it.)

Some changes?

Hey guys,

Hope you're all well. Pretty gloomy weather today! Sari, it was ridiculous. SO windy and pretty cold too. Almost knocked over my recycling bin, which was full and heavy!

Kind of not doing my homework right now… should be doing linear algebra. What a pain, homework. But it'll get done, or most of it. Just means I might have to have a bit of a pathetic blog post.

I kind of miss the Friday question. It allowed us to talk to each other, to have something to communicate specifically to whoever had asked it. Should we reinstate something like it? Maybe a message at the end of each blog, for the four other members? That might be tedious though.

Also I suggested to Sari putting up more pictures. Makes for easier reading and more insight into each other's lives!

Oh my bro wants to go work out! Talk to you ladies later; no pic this week but maybe next one!

First Week Complete!

First week of Spring semester? Complete! And actually, I had a long weekend this weekend (no classes today for Martin Luther King Jr. Day). I thought I was going to be soooo bombarded with homework, but I wasn't, so I actually relaxed almost the entire weekend.

On Friday I went to Paneras, which I definitely think we should get in Toronto. Its like a sandwich, soup, and bakery all in one...and it is AMAZING! My favourite is the half combo, which comes with half a sandwich and a soup. I always get the sierra turkey sandwich and broccoli cheddar soup. I met with some friends that I hadn't seen over the break, so it was great to catchup! That night I watched Sex & the City...and let's just say I was shocked! haha it was the dvd version so a lot of the content wasn't censored and I was in for a surprise. I had never seen the show before and when I started watching it, I was like "THEY ARE ALLOWED TO SHOW THIS ON TV?!" and my roommate just laughed at me! haha

Also, I went to the mall twice in two days...the first time I went shopping for boots (I'm looking for caramel, just-below the knee, leather boots) but unfortunately couldn't find any :(
The second time I went was with my friend who bought an iPad! We've had a ton of fun playing with it...it is sooooo cool! hahah

and Yesterday I baked cookies and made mini pizzas with my roommates, and watched three 1-hour episodes of law& order suv. It was really relaxing..but I know that this won't happen again for a while cause school is about to get BUSYYY!

Anyways, I hope everyone has a great week!

First week back.

Well ladies and gentlemen,
this week was my first week back of my new school semester. It was actually fun. Ha-ha. Some of the classes I have are quiet fun. This semester I am taking a Dining Room Theory class, which means my whole section is working in our schools restaurant. We each get a section, and we all have to work either the dinner or lunch shift. Which is kind of cool. And my other favourite class is my Public Speaking. My teacher is really funny, and that totally makes it sooo much easier to talk to him, and to the class.
This weekend I have decided to go back and re-watch the seasons of a couple of my favourite TV shows, like 'Charmed', 'Supernatural', and 'Vampire Diaries' (which i have recently gotten into). And also go and start from the beginning and re-watch 'The Big Bang Theory' so I can catch up. They are all really good shows, which I would recommend watching.
So i shall let you all go. I know it's 2:35am on a Saturday night, which is really late, but oh well. I've been sucked into the Facebook app "Sims Social" vortex and it's starting to become addictive. Ha-ha. Both my friend and I have now become very much engulfed in this game. Ha-ha.
Anyway, I shall let you all go on about your business. And hopefully I shall see you all again next week!!:)
Cheers!

Four Hundred

400, wow. That's a lot. Did you know that the sqaure root of four hundred is 20? Which just so happens to be one of my lucky numbers! But talk about pressure. Four Hundred. Four Hundred times we've shared our stories and such. Wow.
My story continues with batteling cancer, I'm now in radiation ville. And only have 12 more sessions to go! Out of 15... but since they are everyday Monday-Friday it's pretty fast.
What else? Oh a couple of things.
First, I've started school again like Lee and Sari. Though I missed my first class on Monday cause I wasn't feeling to great. But I did attend my Tuesday class and my class today. (I only have 1 class a day, Monday-Wednesday.) Though I have a story for each class already. Monday's teacher knows my dad, though I'm not telling my prof this fact if he hasn't figured it out. My dad says they aren't friends, but... they have had lunch in a group together. Tuesday's class is a lecture, with another oh I'm going with 200 students... maybe more, I didn't look at the balcony. It's the only time that my school feels like what you imagine University to be, so I do enjoy this. Though I love the smaller classes just as much. Oh and I spent $100+ on books... for one class... One of the books is $15 cheaper on Amazon and I don't need it till the end of the semester... so yeah. Can you say return?! P.S. Lee my school's book store is run by your school. Fun fact! The recipts don't say my school's name on the back. Finally Wednesday's class. It's the first time I've had school on a Wednesday since, since well that useless lecture last year that no one went to, which has since been dropped as a course all together. Why did I have to be the guinea pig year for it? Anyway today I learned how to code my own website, and that's pretty much what this course is about. I don't know how I feel about it yet, but I'm excited to learn!
Also today was a pretty exciting day in my house. First and forever it was my youngest first cousin's birthday. She turned 13, and well I have a lot of cousins. And I'm close with a lot of second cousins, but first cousins are a bit more special since they are your parents siblings kids. And when the youngest turns 13, and you can remember her as a baby you realize how much time has past. Oddly enough she's my only first cousin I remeber as a baby. They say you can only remember things from the age of three so that knocks out three younger first cousins already. Leaving only two. And even though the older one is four years younger then me I don't remember her as a baby. But I do remember my aunt pregnant with her and I remember my brother as a baby, which makes sense. He's three years younger and I spend every single day with him.
Secondly and really excitingly I learned today that Daniel Radcliffe is coming to Toronto!!! Ach so excited. Need to exicute my plan of seeing him. I promised myself, back when I missed ehem Rupert Grint, Tom Felton and Matthew Lewis. Well really Matthew Lewis, because that's when I was sick. That if a Harry Potter person were to come to Toronto, no matter what I'll be there. And well it's Harry Potter himself!
Finally the book "The Fault in Our Stars" by John Green got delivered to my house today. It's a signed copy since the author John Green aka John of the Vlogbrother's, promised to sign all pre-ordered copies. It's about two teens with cancer, not 100% sure about the rest, but I know its an honest and funny telling of what its really like. I'm thinking I'll take it with me to radiation since I have to turn off my phone while waiting, and they also don't really like iPads...
Speaking of radiation... I better go, early morning zapping session tomorrow.
Miah
P.S. Sorry for not editing this one, I'm too tired...

399

Ok Miah, heads up. Tomorrow you will be posting our 400th post!!! This is very exciting.

Like Sari, I'm a bit overwhelmed at the moment (just finished tonight's readings and notes and things) so I won't post too much. Gonna go to bed soon, get a head start on tomorrow.

Just a few things:
  • My new philosophy prof is really old. Why is this interesting? Because… because I've never had such an old prof before. One of my profs last year was in his eighties, but he was really active and he seemed to be more like early early 70s. This philosophy prof, however, is quite old and somewhat ill, from what he told us. I could hardly concentrate on the lecture, I was so amazed by his frailty. I… just wanted to give him a hug?
  • Textbooks are so expensive. Gah. Got one more left to buy, as well as a lab manual (where they describe all the experiments you're going to do in a certain course).
  • Work tomorrow. Woo, hope I don't "waste" 4 hours as I sometimes do, puzzling over the data that I have to work on.
  • So many taekwondo practices. It's crazy. We're gearing up for the next competition, which is REALLY soon. So they're putting the pressure on, and I'm a-gunna die. Maybe I'll opt out of this competition, keep the pressure down?
Hope to hear from you all soon!
Lee

PS: Did you know that the German philosopher Leibniz (1646-1716), maybe best known as the [co-]inventor of calculus, learned Mandarin Chinese? Fucking amazing.

School Ughhhh :(

Hey! This post is gonna be really short cause I'm very overwhelmed with school right now!
Yesterday was my first day of classes for this semester, and it was crazy. It happens this way EVERY semester, but i still manage to freakout. We meet all of our new profs (and they all seem strict, although once you get a couple of weeks in, you learn that they are actually awesome and pretty laid-back) and get out syllabus's, which basically show everything that you need to do for the semester. So, as always, I freak out all the time :P

My classes don't seem too too bad yet, just kind of a lot of work. But i'll keep you posted next week! :)

Sleepy post :P

Oh god....so....tired....yes im aware its only 1am but im totally exhausted. Im also aware its Sunday so that makes me....umm...4? days late? ahhaah whoops!!
I havent exactly been SUPER busy....well I kinda have. But I dont really have the brain power to remember my past week so I'll just say I've had some really fun times with friends (more than one movie night in one week = AWESOME) and I also love my new straightener (random side note I know but its true!!).
I hope you guys all have a good week starting back in your classes :D Hopefully I'll be starting up my own guitar lessons too so I'll have something to report on for Thursdays :P
Till next week
Time to go sleep on my NEW mattress!! (like sleeping on heaven)

Saturday

Well ladies and gentlemen it's 2012!!!
It was an interesting year last was, but this year will be even more interesting and fun!:)
My week was a lot of fun, I got to hang out with all my friends, for long periods of times. Haha, won't be doing that again till my reading week.:( But the biggest purchase I made this week is a brand spankin' new hair straightener. My old one was a cheap one from Shopper's Drug Mart (it's pretty much the same as Walgreen's for those of you in the states.:P) but this one i got from a specialty store and was shown how to work it and such. I really like it, although I don't necessarily need one cause my hair is naturally straight slash a little wavy. Haha
But next week i start back into my second semester of school!! Ahh, it's so weirdd.
Although to celebrate the last day of freedom, I am going to brunch with my family, and some of my dad's company. It's my dad's company lunch, but for me I will be celebrating for the last day of my freedom. Haha.
Anyway I shall let you all go and finish doing what y'all were doing before reading my rambles.=P
Hopefully I shall see you all next week.:) I promise that this time I'll post on time.:P
Cheers!

Finally!

Ach do you see it? Hear it? It's FINALLY 2012!!!! No more 2011, no more awfulness, ok still a bit though I learned today that should be all done by January 27th!!!!!! Yahoo! 15 sessions of getting zapped and then I can finally begin my new life!
I really enjoyed bringing in the New Year with you guys, even though I wasn't part of the dance part-ay! I did like watching peeps dance and get crazy. I also really enjoyed watching people get drunk. Which I think is the best part of being sober at a party, watching others get drunk and act silly and hearing convo's about good attractive sumo fat.
My week hasn't been too eventful other then that, oh but my Rabbi did come over to my house today. And last week I was actually in Montreal. Got to hang out with my cousins, saw TinTin (word of advice don't see it with French people, they will ruin it for you), ate a lot of food including my favourite triple chocolate crêpe, and got to see babies. Which reminds me, my family's dridel competition. The top four decided (since two of them came from the same house hold, meaning they were more likely to win) that they would each get $10 and the other $100 would be donated to cancer research in honour of me. This idea actually came from my 10-year-old cousin who a year ago cried when he lost... he get's it from his mom.
Also just to add to the TV talk, I just got into Once Upon a Time. Kinda hard to explain, but basically there's a town where everyone is a fairytale character. But they area all trapped in this town (our world) due to an evil curse, and their saviour is the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming. Oh and they don't know/remember they are fairytale characters. It's actually really good. They had a marathon the other day, got me and my brother hooked. I advise watching it since there's only seven episodes so it's easy to catch up too. It has great plot twists and shows both their previous lives and the current ones. Also I love the amount of detail put in this show, Snow White (whom I'm loving everything about btw) her apartment has a massive bird mural. But not in your face. Oh and I think the main character is Goldie Locks, she was excited about a bear claw donut the other day, and her hair is well gold. Oh and she apparently likes to move a lot. But she could also be no body and I'm just jumping to conclusions.
Ok, I think that's all I wanted to write about...
Happy 2012!
Miah
P.S. Can't remember if I mentioned this last week but I FINISHED THE HUNGER GAMES TRILOGY AND OMG ITS A FANTASTIC BOOK SERIES!!!! CAN NOT WAIT FOR MARCH 23RD!!!!!!!!

2012- duh!

Hey guys,

I'm blogging from where the bottom bunk of my bunk bed once was. Basically, I have a blanket spread on the floor and it has become my chill spot. (For sleep, I've relocated to the top bunk, which remains where it always was.)

Sadly, I've become very sedentary over the past few weeks. It's sad because I like to be active, and feel pretty "bleh" when I'm just lounging around. But at the moment, I lack the motivation to get up and go, so I've reconciled myself with my laziness by just letting it be, for now.

Sort of hard to believe it's already 2012! 20 years away from 1992. This is the year we all leave our teens behind!

Here are some things I imagine could happen in this decade of my life:
– graduate
– travel around (maybe finally visit Hong Kong?)
– have some sort of job; maybe a few
– more boyfriends (ugh!)
– maybe get married? 27, 28? It could happen.
– maybe baby? Babies?!

Well now that I've thoroughly weirded myself out, I'm actually gonna go watch some more of a show I love- "MI-5".

Wooohhooooo!! It's finally 2012! How crazy is that?!
I've made a bunch of new years resolutions that I'm desperately trying to stick to...but unfortunately, it's the 2nd day of January and I already know I'm going to break these resolutions. But really, this happens every year :p How was everyone's new years??

Congrats to your cousin, Mars! That is so exciting about the engagement and wedding in 2013! I bet it'll be so much fun :) Also, regarding the Vampire Diaries, I LOVE THAT SHOW TOO! I'm not up-to-date with it this year (because I had a lot going on with school) but I've been trying to catch-up over the break. When I saw the first few episodes, I wasn't a huge fan since I don't it was going to be just like Twilight, but it actually wasn't! It's suspenseful, scary, funny, etc. Basically, I'm seconding Mars on this one...it's a good show!

So I'm currently reading the third book in the Hunger Game series, Mockingay, and it is SOOOO GOOD! When I was reading the second book, I literally couldn't stop reading. And everytime you would try and predict what was going to happen, it would be completely different. Suzanne Collins (author) would have this amazing idea that was 100000x better than what you had imagined. Yeah, it's that good :)

Has anyone ever gone in a hot tub in the middle of winter? We have a hot tub in our backyard, and my parents always go in, even when its -1000 degrees outside (maybe I exaggerate a little?) but I usually just say no. Well, tonight I decided to go in. I went running from my back deck across the sidewalk to the hottub and my feet went all numb. After adjusting to the extreme temperatures though, it's pretty enjoyable. Your body is nice and warm but your head is cold but it's kind of relaxing!

Well, this is gonna be my last week at home until my school break, so I'm trying to catchup on sleep, shows, books, and hanging out with friends!
Next time I blog, I'll be in another country!
Bye for now!
