It's one of those nights...
Now that I know that Gary Oldman played Sirius I totally miss him too. More Gary Oldman! More Gary Oldman! They definitely could have done like a flashback or something, right? Or something.
As for my reaction to the film, not my OPINION, my reaction. Hmmm. Honestly it was exactly what I had pictured in my head. Like EXACTLY. Up until like last year I hadn't read any of the books but I had seen all the movies. I think what happened was that once I actually got around to reading the books I already knew what all the characters looked like and so it was easy to just continue picturing them for the seventh book. Except apparently I forgot about Gary Oldman. Ah well, I was young and ignorant when I saw the...third one was it? I know now the talents of Mr. Oldman and no longer take them for granted.
My one criticism for the film, is that it was a little TOO close to the book. It's a strange thing to say I know. It's like the first time I've felt like that. Normally I'm complaining that the movie strayed too far from the story but whatevs. I just think that maybe the seventh book was a little...you, know...lengthy? With some unnecessary and kinda boring scenes? Don't hurt me Miah!! And I'm just a little surprised that the movie took such a long book with so many scenes that could have been shortened and just did it practically word for word. Aren't they supposed to be all creative with the way they transform it to fit the screen? Or something? That is NOT to say that I didn't enjoy it. I TOTALLY did. It was frighting, hilarious, riské?, and sad and wonderful!! I think I even screamed in terror during the...well if you've seen the movie you can probs guess what scene would make the audience all jumpy-like. So, having scene (aha, did you see what I did there? With the word seen spelled scene..eh?) the first part of the last Harry Potter movie I say that I am satisfied with it. Even the acting!! Which I always complain about...
Before I finish here I just wanna say, do you ever have one of those nights where there isn't any food in the house except like bread and water and the car is gone so you can't go grocery shopping until whoever has the car gets home and you're broke so you don't want to go out to eat so basically you're starving all night? Yea. My stomach is not quite at the loud gurgling stage, but it is definitely starting to suspect that it's not going to be fed for a while and is totally starting to get riled up about it. Time to scrounge for food! MMmmmmm yummy stale bread :P
Right-O!

Charlie?
How did I feel after Harry Potter?
I was really really pleased! I have this great ability that lets me not compare the two (book and film), so I'm never sitting there upset because they left out a plot line or a character. BUT...
WHERE WAS CHARLIE?!!?! I have been waiting so long to see the 2nd son, and we NEVER see him, but I may have just missed him in the background, so we shall see.
Also kinda upset they didn't show Luna's room, cause that was one thing that stuck out in my mind, but like a vlogger said it's a special secret for us readers.
Other then those two minor things I was pleased. I did sense the end coming, only because they always seem to have a silent final scene so I knew it was the end. Wow vague!
OK... brain not working and I only have 6% battery left on my laptop so gonna end this now and then sleep.

P.S. Lee I only start my count down at the 100 day mark'
P.P.S. Check this out, 'tis funny! http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/a1c04ce68e/i-am-harry-potter
P.P.P.S. I've started reading Harry Potter en Français, long story I'll explain next week.
P.P.P.P.S. Currently in my last week of my first semester! Yay!
P.P.P.P.P.S I actually don't remember if you're supposed to do P's over or S's... oh well...
P.P.P.P.P.P.S. I saw a Pirate on the subway today... rather yesterday. The man had long hair, a beard, a 3 point hat, pirate boots, baggy pants, and a satchel for his water bottle. It was so cool!

... (that is me speechless :P)
As I said on Friday my reaction was somewhat unique, epically to me. As you may or may not have figured out I am a person who is rarely quiet and when I speak I am quite loud about it. So when after watching Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 I literally was speechless with no thought in my head I did not know what to do with myself. The end was a major cliff hanger and rather unexpected so for a good 2-3 minutes I was just sitting there looking at the screen not able to function. Then I finally had to get up to get back on the bus to rez I did not know what to do with myself. I was just sitting there attempting to process what I had just witnessed and I found myself unable to speak and I had no thought running around in my head. It was the weirdest thing I have ever experienced!
As for the movie it was well done there were a few things that bothered me like the fact that the mirror is never explained and the weird seen where Ginny asks Harry to zip up her dress but other than a few small things it was very good.
I’m very excited because I am going home this weekend. For the uneducated Sunday is the Grey Cup, the final for the Canadian Football League and it has become somewhat of a tradition to watch it at my grandparents’ house and for dinner to have deli.
I’m looking forward to what everyone else has to say about Harry Potter but for now I have holiday light to go and hang in my window!
Till next time,

If I can’t talk Potter then I have nothing to say...
Not knowing whether or not you, the reader, have seen Harry Potter or not I will not talk about it. That leaves me with pretty much nothing to say.
So, this week’s question is: How did you react to the movie? Not, what you thought about it (feel free to talk about that) but how you reacted because I am excited to tell you all my reaction to the movie... it was unique. Also if you do discuss the content of the movie put a warning for those who have not see it yet.
Till next time,

Spandex Unitards
I'M GOING TO SEE HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS (part 1) OMG. right? RIGHT? So basically I'm really excited for that. Woo! The show doesn't start till like 5:45 tonight but we're totally lining up at 3:30. Gotta get good seats :)
I have to say that last night was pretty amazing too (I say 'too' because I know HP is gonna be amazing...no doubt). I went to see the Earl Haig fashion show, or I guess 'Fashion Awards 2010/2011' as they called it. Oh man! Our fashion shows were never that intense. Seriously those kids are amazing. The reason I went (I didn't just go to stalk the little highschoolers :P) was because my friend's little brother was in it and MAN did he deliver. It was an all guys scene and they came running down the aisle in, no joke, spandex unitards, inspired by the outfits worn by boxers and stuff. Nothing else, just that. Though I did hear something about them having to buy cups for, you know...their junk? Hahaha, oh man it was freakin hilarious! So, yea kudos to the guys in that scene and also to my friends little brother! You know who you are!!
The rest of the show was just as well done with the choreography and designs and such it was just that this particular scene had a sort of....flare? A little something extra? A certain je ne sais quoi? Whatever it was it was thoroughly entertaining, let me tell ya :P
Ah yes, and my question....the friday question. Well I already talked about the most recent concert I went to and how it rocked and besides, I think the Muse one topped it just a bit because of the whole I'm-a-super-huge-fan-in-fact-I-would-do-anything-to-see-them-in-concert-again thing. Also because it was at the ACC so it was a ginormous stage, giving them more flexibility to do crazy shit like raise the piano up on a dias type thingy for a couple of the songs (yea the lead singer can play piano like a fiend), and they had a nice, flashy light show. *Sigh it's the little things :) So I think my answer is the Muse concert. Biggest high I have had after a concert like, ever. Yay Muse! OH, I should mention I am NOT a fan because of Twilight, I think it was actually my sister who introduced me to them....I am not a lame fan! I heard their siren call and now I just can't get it out of my head. Not that I'd want to anyways. It's a very pretty siren call, real catchy.
Any who, today looks like its shaping up to be another day of AWESOME entertainment! So here's to Harry Potter!

Space Cadet
HOLY FUCKING SHIT! I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS MOVIE IS OUT ON FRIDAY!!!!!
And because of the movie I am a total space cadet. Like I can not focus on anything, I go on the computer for 5 minutes and 30 minutes later I've watched at least 5 different cast interviews. Last Friday Evie and I went to the Harry Potter Fan Appreciation Hour, and here's a pic!
Oh and I'm also spacey because of something that may possibly not happen on Thursday. So yeah the possibility of that is exciting.
As far as my favourite concert/show/musical I have to admit I have never been to a concert. Well except for Sharon, Lois, and Bram when I was 4. But I don't think that counts. So, I think my favourite musical has to be Spring Awakening. It was actually amazing, and I saw it twice within 11 days. But I guess for this answer its a good one, because it is a rock musical and yeah without giving too much of the power away, it is a must see.
Ok, off to sleep

101 Dalmatians
Hello all, Tuesdays with Lee. I don't know what I'm going to talk about. I should be quick though, since I've secretly commandeered my brother's computer and have to be done with it before he discovers that anything is amiss.
First order of business: concerts. The best show I have ever been to. Oh my goodness, this is tough. I have been to an absurd amount of plays, musicals, concerts… you name it. My mom likes getting deals on good seats, and I like filling up those seats, so it works out.
The show that comes to mind is a Metric show I went to last year, in October. It was a large venue, but I was sitting near enough to the front that it still felt pretty intimate. And it wasn't a stadium, so that's a step up. A key feature was that there were seats. No mosh pit, like every other time I got to see the band. Seats!! It was a great show because they were excited to be playing the venue (it has the reputation of being quite prestigious), the lack of a mosh pit helped keep me sane and safe, and they played my favourite song off their new album for the first time ever live (after the album had been out for months!)
Others come to mind for sure. Feist was a great performer, Muse (as Evie mentioned) killed the entire stadium, and I was basically sitting at Mark Knopfler's feet, my seats were so good. :P
Second order of business: Wii. My brother just brought one home! It's going to get so much love.
On that note… byeeeeee!

C and HP
The best show I ever went to was Great Big Sea in August 2006 at the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre at Ontario Place. The concert ticket was an end of school/middle school graduation present – probably one of the best I have ever gotten! I was 14; the concert was the same day as I got back from 2 weeks of overnight camp. I say that it was the best because I had the most fun I have ever had at a show. I was in the back row of a section so I was standing on my seat (and not blocking anyone) and literally screaming all the words. By the end of the night I had lost my voice; that was the first, last and only time that I have ever lost my voice at a concert. The whole place was electrifying. It was simply amazing! Now I know that Great Big Sea is not the most exciting music but I love it because my dad would play it all the time and it is kinda infectious.
Now usually I am pretty early with my blogs but today I almost forgot (sorry!) but I have good reason. I was going about my day saying I’ll blog after this but did something else then at 7 I went and watched Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. All week, starting Saturday, I have been watching them with other rez people. We are going to see a pre-screening on Thursday at 7 so we are going to watch Order of the Phoenix tomorrow and Half-Blood Prince on Wednesday and then we will be all set for Deathly Hallows on Thursday.
Anywho, I don’t have much else to say other then I hope everyone has a good week full of magic and to enjoy Deathly Hallows part 1 whenever you see it!
Till next time,

Fun fun fun till the stupid security guard kicks you out
So, in case you haven't figured it out yet I went to a concert last night and had a fuckin blast!! Seriously, I think I need to go to more concerts. Except I don't want to go deaf so maybe I'll invest in a pair of ear plugs or something. It was a pretty awesome concert though, I mean, four bands for forty bucks? That's pretty good eh? It was at the Royal Winter Fair and even though I didn't know all the bands playing it didn't even matter. The music was sweet and every so often a song was played that I did know so I got to sing along! Or I guess scream along...cuz you know, it's so loud...and stuff :P It turned out that I knew more of the bands than I thought though, I just didn't recognize their names. The first band was Midway State (I think :P) they had some pretty sick music, then there was Ill Scarlett who played more like hard rock stuff with lots of yelling but they mixed it with like reggae or something...bongos and everything! :D Then The Stereos came on and WOO! Let me tell you, it's like someone just found 5 really hot guys and put them in a band, I mean SERIOUSLY. That place was hot AND steamy!! One of them even looked a bit like Taylor Lautner! Hello! I mean, if you like tilt your head and only look at his profile...And last but definitely NOT least was Mariana's Trench. Sick, right? I knew who they were for sure. I've watched some MTV so I actually recognized a few of their songs, but the thing that surprised me was that I honestly liked every single song they played. Some more than others but every single one! I swear! *Sigh it was amazing. It almost tied for Best Concert Ever with the Muse concert I went to...almost. What can I say? I'm a Muse girl through and through. But I wouldn't mind if a couple of those Stereos members all of the sudden decided they wanted to be a part of Muse...like making cameos in the vids or something, with nice lengthy shots of them...maybe shirtless if it added to the meaning...Seriously. HOT. Maybe minus the tattoos but hey, NOT a big deal.
I guess I'll also mention I had an awesome time on friday night too (also at the Winter fair thingy) when I went to that horse show with some friends. Who knew horse jumping was so stressful? Or intense? Or drew such a crowd? It was pretty comical when the entire stadium did synchronized Oo's and Ah's in reaction to a horse's performance. I think the most exciting part of the night was when a horse decided it didn't want to make the jump and busted through it instead of over it. That got a reaction! Talk about scandal! Who does that horse think he is, getting all uppity and independant? According to the commentators it was because the horse and the rider didn't "Get together" on how many strides to take before jumping. Whatever. I think the horse had just had it and was showing that rider who's boss! Atta boy! :P
Anywho I suppose this week's Friday question is going to be about shows: What is the best show (yes this includes musicals Miah :P) that you have ever been to and what made it SO FREAKIN AWESOME!?
ttfn -Evie
ps. Seriously guys look up The Stereos, you'll see what I mean.
pps. OMG did I mention that I saw one of the members, Miles, up close? He was taking pictures and signing stuff afterwards and honestly, I could NOT stop staring. Totally got caught. More than once. By him. I tried to get a picture with him but the security guard was kicking people out cuz it was late and the show was way over :( One of my life's regrets *sigh...I'll just have to go to ANOTHER one of their concerts!!

There is nothing about Buffy in here I SWEAR! (except for the word Buffy in the title...twice)
Ha that's something my brother's friend does, apparantly, I've never actually heard him say it but it's funny so I decided to use it too!
Right. HARRY POTTER! It's so close I can taste it. Gonna pre-order some tickets today (My god I hope they have some left :S stop that Evie of COURSE they have some left. POSITIVE thinking woman!)
Anywho, exciting new my friends! Today we celebrate the Harry Potter fan appreciation day. In other words yea I'm gonna dress up as a Harry Potter character and prance around Dundas Square, what?! But don't worry! There will be lots of other peeps dressed up too! (OMG I hope that's true other wise I'm in for a world of painful embarrassment :S Yikes) It's gonna be so much fun!
So yea, that's the first part of today. Later tonight I'm gonna check out the Royal Fair or the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair? Something like that. It too promises to be sweet and wonderful :D A good time, n'est ce pas?
Ha! I guess I should answer the question(s) of the week now! Well, here goes.
Part one: SPOILER ALERT! SPOILER ALERT!
I'm so excited for the giant ass battle at the end where Harry Potter, you know....like dies. Like the most INTENSE part ever right? Also the opening of the seventh book cuz it was a pretty kwl fight scene. Ha, clearly I go for the fighting eh? OH no, no I figured my favorite scene was the goblin bank heist with a fucking Dragon! Yup. That's what I'm most excited for. :D
Part Two: What do I consider socially uncomfortable in a guy? Weeeeell, seeing as I've never actually been in a relationship I can only make up situations in which I THINK I'd be uncomfortable soooo. Let's see. I don't think I'd like it if a guy was super religious for similar reasons that Miah wants a guy who IS somewhat religious; I grew up only going to church when I was super young and hating it (cuz it was boring...what? I was like 5) and then we stopped because I guess my family had a different way of looking at the world, or something like that. So I would feel super uncomfortable if the guy I was going out with wanted to like, have me join his church or watever. Especially now that I'm sort of (slowly...painfully slowly) coming into my own in terms of how I want to live my life. Yea. I guess I'd like to think that if I like the guy enough I'd feel comfortable with anything but even as I'm typing now it sounds pretty unrealistic. But I think that for now, in my ignorant state, anything I write about this is unrealistic so, until I have experienced a relationship I'll just have to wonder. If I do though, get a guy, I'll let ya know!
Ttfn!

Bubie and Zadie, Mémé and Pépé
9 DAYS!!!
So my life, kinda crap at the moment won't go into full details but its just I'm at my annual "who the hell am I" and "what the hell am I doing studying art?" phase of the year. It's an annual thing that happens around stressful times of the year, usually in November and I'm very emotional. (BTW because I just wrote a 1600 word essay, this will be very jumbley I am so sorry but my brain is now mushy mush.)
So yeah Harry Potter excitement is brewing inside me! (ha see what I did there brewing?!!!? eh- eh?)
OK, the part I am the most looking forward to is the 7 Potters scene (which by accident I saw a preview of... it was late at night and I was just clicking.) it was the scene that when reading the book I was like I CAN NOT WAIT FOR THIS TO BE IN THE MOVIE. Also I'm excited for the Weasley wedding cause finally we'll see Bill and Charlie!
As far as my what would... one sec gonna check what I wrote.
OK back!
Anyways So my other question was what socially would I feel weird about, specifically in a guy. Well we all know that I am on the fence about dating a non-Jew. And its not cause I'm racist like Lee said, and to contrary belief not because of Religious reason... OK well maybe... See I've been thinking about it more and I realized that the nice Jewish boy, yes is something people tell me to look for. But, its also something I want. Cause well, weird cause I'm 18 and though legally old enough to marry definitely not mentally stable to marry. (Sorry again for the jumbleyness.) But I can't help but think of dating as a step towards marriage, it may be because I'm an old sole, something people tell me often. But yeah, the idea of my future kids not being circumcised/ named, being forced to attend Hebrew school, Bar/Bat Mitzvahed or even celebrating Christmas and Easter just isn't something I can wrap my head around. I guess its cause its the way I've grown up, and now that my cousins are having kids its slightly what my mind wanders too.
OMG I just clued into why the whole dating to marry thing. About... lets say 3 years ago my grand mother (the one who passed away in April, who's unveiling I went to this past weekend which contributed to my sucky mood) started bugging me about marriage. Here's the thing though, I'm number 4 of 8 grand children on that side. The eldest being a girl, two boys then me followed by two girls, my brother and then another girl. OK? Well for some reason my grandmother nagged me about getting married, I was 15/16! I asked my eldest cousin if she was getting the same, and she said yes... within months though she was engaged an married. But for some reason my two boy cousins weren't getting bugged and neither were any of the other girls! Later I learned the reason, my grandmother had this little blue prayer book that only the girls are allowed to use on our weddings, and because I'm next she turned to me. Also I think it was last year, but my other grandmother turned to me and said I have a 5 year wedding limit because she doesn't think she'll be around any time after her-- doing the math-- 90th birthday. (Oh for the purpose of this story I guess I should mention that I'm the eldest of 4.) Basically she tried to persuade me into marrying by the age of 23, we negotiated a minimum of 24. I guess my ideas of marrying a Jewish boy stem from, well my Jewish grandmothers both whom lead very strong Jewish lives. While Religiously not at the same level, but in teaching me how to live my Jewish life and not be ashamed or embarrassed by my identity. And well my grandparents (oh shit here comet the tears, told you I am so emotional lately!) are/were the most important people in my life, they are who I see my self in the most, even more then my parents. From my Mémé I get my love for culture, from my Pépé I get my artist abilities, from my late Zadie I get my quiet wisdom, and from my late Bubie I get my stubbornness and will. So, I guess that really dating/ marrying a Jewish boy is something I want to do for my grand parents, but I know that they'll still love me either way.
Ok, so now instead of crying at the computer I'll go cry myself to sleep.
Miah
RIP Bubie and Zadie, I miss you so much.

I like eating pickles and salami... together
I have had a good week/weekend I hope that everyone else did.
As a whole I am very excited to see the next two movies but specifically I am excited to see how all the romantic relationships play out also, I hope that the epilogue is done well.
Miah question two makes perfect sense but I don’t have an answer. I wish I could tell you that I need him to be one way rather than another but I can’t there is not much that would make me turn away from a guy specifically I guess I’m not much into the idea of a convict but that is all that I can think of. I never grew up in a super religious way. My Mom grew up Christen and my Dad grew up Jewish and neither changed much when they got married so I consider myself both in a secular way. I pick and choose aspects of each religion to believe, respect and to follow (in terms of holidays) but when it come to a belief in a higher power I don’t think there is a person up in heaven who made the world and is now telling me how to live my life. Wow, I did not mean to rant on religion but I guess I just did, oops!
In terms of the boy in question I have had many nice experiences with him but also just as many time when he was annoying but in that same vein you should go with what your gut is telling you rather then what other people are saying/telling you to do.
Till next time,
Rae <3
