:D

I got home at like 2am so sorry this is happening on Saturday rather than Friday. Evie to answer your question, I love the colours of the 80s I love the crazy neon colours and all the wildness of that but as for the design of the cloths I too would go with the 50s or 60s. There is something fun about a nicely fitted dress that you can twirl in!

My Friday question is as follows: what is your favourite food, what could you eat and never get tired of eating?

Till next time,

I love a good twirly skirt

Hello all!
I guess I'll start by saying that the 80's night was a semi-bust. We got down there and everything was fine; we could hear the music in the distance as we walked across the parking lot and then, out of nowhere BOOM freaking rain everywhere. I swear it was raining sideways, and lemme tell you, umbrellas don't really work when the rain is coming at you from basically every direction except down! It was craziness! But in the end it was still fun because I was with friends :D We had fun despite the torrential downpour. We sang, we danced (briefly) we ran around screaming in the rain - with friends anything can be fun!
So speaking of friends, tomorrow I'm leaving for a friend's cottage, yay! It's gonna be a nice 10 days lounging in the sun (wearing 30 SPF or higher) and swimming and making dinners and maybe even some casual drinking (everyone is over 16) :D I think it'll be fun.

Now as for the decade of clothing I like the best, I'd probably say the 50's, mostly because the dresses then would so flatter my body type. I go out right where I'm supposed to! Plus I love (like miah) the idea of being able to twirl in a skirt that is basically MADE for twirling :P You know I don't really wear dresses that often but I think I like the idea of being able to wear them all the time and have nice heels to match...I also feel like they went out dancing a lot so that would be fun! Though I will say that I like all the colours in the 60's. The clothing was a little more interesting then pattern-wise. But if I had to pick a decade I would say the 50's. Just think of Marilyn Monroe - she had such style!

Well see you guys later! (Not sure if I'll be able to post next week, I may not have internet...we'll see)

Blog of the Past!

Unlike Rae's blog on Monday, this blog wasn't really written in the past. It just should have been. :P Anyway, call it Tuesday, and it's all good.

Just got back from a longish day at work (9:13-4). It was my second last day, because back in June I told them I couldn't work during the school year, and they have just found an adequate replacement for me. I'm not complaining! This way I get to focus on getting ready for school, as well as volunteering, earlier than I had planned. Plus, it wasn't the most phenomenal place to work (and I don't think I'm cut out for retail!).

My favourite fashion decade since the 1900s is probably the '60s. Clothes with so much personality, and with a sense of humour. I love it!

Few people embodied the '60s look better than model Pattie Boyd:
Gorgeous!

Of course, the '70s also had some pretty free-spirited, humorous clothing. But I like the clean-cut fun that the '60s clothes displayed, more than the loose and psychedelic '70s clothes.

So there!

Lameness Blog

Blah blah blah
So today I had my pre-chemo check up and every thing's good. Next time I go I'll get a CT scan to see how my mass is doing. I have been feeling better but super tired... like super tired. There are moments that sitting up is too exhausting... So yeah iPad! For when I can lie down and still go on the Internet.
Right now this very second there's a mover checking out my house to see how much it is to move my house. Not to mention how messy my house is... kinda turning into box city.
So yeah that's my life right now...
Yeah chemo tomorrow so I'm just getting myself prepped entertainment wise. So today I bought the first two Harry Potter's and with the Kobo app I bought the first 5 books in the shopaholic series.
Sorry for the lameness of this blog I am really tired...
Friday Question time! I think I would liked to wear clothes from the 50's or 60's. I love the full skirts and pastel colours of the 50's, and just how clothing made women look beautiful. I dunno some of today's stuff and way of dressing makes people look trashy, but women seemed so beautiful back then. And I also love the crazy patterns and shapes, like even the silouets of the clothing of the 60's. And uch guys in suits all the time!?!!?! How shmexy! Also the styling of the 60's is so much cooler then what we have now. Yeah... I don't know why I don't dress more retro then I do. I do have to admit I am a good stylist people tell me that. I know how to make an outfit like any trendy outfit, I'm just lazy and don't feel like it. Hey anyone wanna let me style them?!!?! And take pictures one day?!?! Oh now I'm excited. Oh how cool a Seventeen Magazine cover from the 60's and how much fun would it be to twirl in this? Uch I was totally born in the wrong decade.
Ok off to nap then semi party at Mia's!!!

Right now I’m probably on the beach or in the pool possibly having a drink, sound fun right well I bet it is! Needless to say I’m on vacation in Cuba and this was written on Thursday night. Not knowing Evie’s question I can’t answer it. Have a good week I know I will!

The decade of leg warmers, lightening bolt earrings and (of course) Madonna!

It's Friday!
And tomorrow night is 80's night! How exciting :D Though I've got to find some 80's workout clothes, I've got some leggings (they're still in style, phew!) and I may have some leg warmers somewhere in my house, but other than that, I'm not sure how I'm going to pull it off :S I'm thinking it's time to do some digging in my mom's closet. I'm sure she's got SOMEthing that's from the 80's. And of course I'll have a look through the dress up box too! That's always fun- lots of memories in there :)
Now how about that for a Friday Question? What decade of fashion do you like best (maybe add a pic from the internet if you can find one?) from 1900 to the present day? Miah you'll like this one eh :P
I'm so excited for tmr night. It's gonna be awesome! There's gonna be bands playing 80's music, people are gonna be dressed up, they're playing John Hughes movies, and best of all - it's frigging FREE. How sweet is that? Like I said, I'm SO EXCITED. And I haven't seen you guys is over a week :( it's time to chill.
Well, I hope everyone else's weekend is super fun too!!

Harry Potter = fantastical, awesomatic fun-ness!! :D

Ahhh Harry Potter. What an experience. It's kind of funny but considering I only started reading the books at the end of grade 11 I got pretty into the series by the end. And YES I dressed up, like I mentioned already :) It was sick. It made it so much more exciting! And people were taking pictures left and right, it was so much fun. Let's see if I have a good pic of my costume....and let's see if you guys can guys (or like if Miah can guess...unless I already told you....oh I did didn't I?) Okay whatever here's a pic, I look awesome :P

I had to edit it cuz there were some other peeps in it (two girls who both dressed up as Voldemort!) But you'll just have to trust me that the pic is even more awesome with all three of us :P :D
As for the actual movie I was totally impressed. Yes it was just a re-enactment of the book (my brother's complaint) but duh! It was supposed to be! I loved it, I LOVED it :D I thought it was so exciting and funny and scary (ESPECIALLY Snape's eye shadow :P) and just plain cool. And Being at the midnight premier made it super special for me, yay dressing up and saying 'Hi, can I take a picture with you?" to random people :P

On a side note, I'm meeting my brother's girlfriend's family tonight; how exciting! And a little nerve wracking...I always get nervous meeting new people.

Till next time!

Post-Potter Depression

So just saying but you guys failed at mentioning if you dressed up for Harry Potter... if you didn't that's cool... but like you didn't answer the questions!!!
Any who my day today was lazy. I had a spinal tap yesterday, and really only lying on the couch is comfortable. Except I found one chair that is really comfy so until my back hurts again blogging on my computer! Any who spent my day reading off my new fancy iPad that I got as get well soon present from my dad's side. I've kinda been bragging about it, but like its so cool! The only issue is that I killed the battery so I had to stop reading the book... Also annoying not everything is an ebook yet so its hard finding something I want to read next... (my library looks sad, only one book.)Another thing (non iPad) the stupid heat wave outside right now is keeping me indoor bound because its way too hot!!! So yeah...
I too registered for courses, but on Monday. My schedule is a little weird cause this year I am taking a reduced load cause of my treatment. And I arranged with my doctors that my chemo's and appointments always (or as much as possible) fall on Thursdays (chemo) and check ups Wednesdays. Any who I'm only taking two classes in the fall one Monday and one Tuesday... doesn't feel like I'm actually going to school. But then again its what needs to be done. What was annoying is that for my year we got to start registering at 12:05 am... at 12:06 am the system crashed and at 9:40 am the school emailed saying it be fixed by 10. So I missed out on an elective I wanted, but I think I'll be happier with the elective I've chosen and I can always take the one I missed in summer school. Something I need to do to catch up on all of the courses I'm not taking in the fall.
OK Harry Potter. Lee did you not read the books, Harry's Dad also had round glasses!!! K only reason I defend that scene is cause its the one I cried during... I dunno... I think its cause of the what the message is behind that scene, death isn't whats scary. Dying isn't bad, its those we leave behind that suffer. But you know they live in our hearts for ever. I dunno its how I got through all of the deaths in my life, that scene written in the book so seeing it on the big screen made me cry. That was the only point in the film that I cried... but then... oh man then. OK so I instead of seeing the movie at a midnight screening saw it during a preview at 7:30. It was awesome, free popcorn, drinks, candy, Berty bots every flavoured beans (I don't touch those... they are currently in my cupboard waiting to be eaten by unsuspecting friends ), no trailers 'twas excellent. Some where dressed up but not really, so I did an under the radar dressing. I wore a red shirt for gryffindor, yellow pants for hufflepuff, green socks for slytherin, and my blue purse for ravenclaw. I had planned on knitting a scarf but I wasn't able to finish... but like with the crowd I knew I was seeing the movie with wearing the scarf might have been too much fandom for them. Anyways so the end of the movie comes and I sit there absolutely stunned. Stunned because it was the end, and for me I being a visual kid started with the movies long before the books. Like I actually could not get up from my seat, and would have happily sat through all of the credits until I was able to register what had just happened. But unfortunately we drove our neighbours down and they need to be driven back. They had leaped out of their seats when the credits started so we agreed to meet in the lobby. BAD CHOICE. The lobby was filled with people getting ready to witness the film for the first time, as I left they were letting in the first crowd cheering. The overwhelming feelings from seeing the film and all of the excitement made me cry, in the lobby. I was just so overwhelmed with emotions... and then I began to laugh at my self so the crying stopped. But yes I embarrassingly cried in the lobby of a movie theatre over a movie. You can even seen the sadness still in my face in the picture above... or was it exhaustion...I was up late that night.Nope its my Post-Potter Depression, which I had another dose of today... cause like other then the DVD whats left?!!?!?But I'm not depressed cause it ended on a low note, I loved the last Harry Potter film, I thought it was perfect and amazing and everything the final one should be. I also can not wait to see it again so umm... REL lets get on that! (But first I must finish the scarf. So tomorrow in my cold house I shall knit!)
OK that's it on my end.
Miah
P.S. Feel free to leave any authors or books in the comments!!!

HP7B

Hey all,

I enrolled in my courses today. It went pretty smoothly, which is great because our system - like so many others - is renowned for fucking people over and crashing a lot. My only concerns at this point stem from the locations of some of my classes. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I will have to make a 15-20 minute journey… in 10 minutes. On Fridays, I will have 5 straight hours in the same lecture hall. (I guess Friday will be sleep-through-class day.)

But no worries until I actually experience it! No use making assumptions about how bad it will be, this early on.

Also, I got a bonded retainer put in. Feels weird. Can't stop prodding it with my tongue.

Harry Potter 7, Part B
I liked it. I laughed, I cried, I was on the edge of my seat. It was a great experience to be there, at midnight, watching it all go down.

I mean, I shifted uncomfortably upon seeing Snape's massive amounts of eye-shadow. I laughed out loud at the emotional scene where Harry sees the ghost of the people he loves… because his father has Harry Potter glasses. (I mean… that doesn't make sense. The Dursleys probably bought him shitty ass glasses b/c they were on sale. Why would his dad magically (haha) have the same frames?) I didn't really buy the whole Remus/Tonks affair.

But overall - overall - it was great to go see it, and even better to go see it with friends.

Deathly Hallows and Degrassi

The movie was AMAZING!!!

I loved the final Harry Potter movie. It was a perfect ending to a perfect series of movies. There are many moments where I laughed, screamed and was overjoyed. I’m not gonna lie, I did not cry while watching the movie but later thinking about the fact that it was over was overwhelming and I did shed a tear then. I think my favourite part was when Neville Longbottom stepped up against Voldemort and was overall such a hero. For the record, I realized Matthew Lewis’ good looks years ago!!! Again, like after part 1, I am kinda speechless and I don’t know how to put all my feelings into words.

On another equally exciting note Degrassi came back tonight! The whole hour was amazing and I look forward to see what else happens this season!

Ladies have a good week I look forward to your thoughts!

Till next time,

Rae <3

We've All Seen It

So... uh... we've all seen it... Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2... I mean... and well thats all I wanna blog about... cause nothing at this point really matters. But I think we should allow for our readers (do you guys think we even have readers) or any one who stumbles across the weekend to see it. So I won't say what I think.
So... uh... well... its naturally my Friday Question, its actually been my Friday Question when I realized I got today. What did you think of the movie? That's been the question for months... but Evie you inspired me to ask an additional question. Did you dress up, if so PICTURE TIME!
Ok. Really I have nothing else to blog about other then Harry... oh and my new found love for Matthew Lewis. He's gotten trés hot, and he's green eyed like me!!!! Have you guys ever noticed that there aren't that many celebrities with green eyes... a lot of brown (duh) and a lot of blue (which for some reason I always thought was rare...) so yeah... I get excited by green eyes. Ok?
Thats it.
Miah
P.S. Just to put this out there, I think Mattew Lewis should play James Bond one day. Ok thats it.

Ahh to travel the world....

Okay, gonna do a quick one here guys, cuz it's late (2:37 am) and I JUST WATCHED THE 7TH AND FINAL HARRY POTTER. It's true, ask anyone! But I can't tell you about it yet because I've been forewarned that the next Friday Question will be about that. SO. I'll just say that I totally dressed up as Bellatrix and not only did everyone like my costume these two girls came up to me and asked me to pose with them!!! It made my night :D I am so glad I dressed up, it was worth the random comments and blatant staring as I walked to the theater with my friend. And it just felt fun. Anyways, you'll hear more about all that next Thursday :)

SO, which countries have I been to? Honestly not that many I don't think. At first I was all, "Oh yea! I've been to loads of countries, like all over ya know?" But then I realized I've just been to France a lot :P and heard a ton of my sisters stories about all her travels. Now she's been everywhere.

France
Canada
USA
UK
Belgium
Costa Rica
Belize

I think that's it. It doesn't look so bad now that I down played it so much eh? Mwahah! My plan worked :P Well time for sleep, and time to remove some crazy Bellatrix Lestrange makeup.

Evie :D
I had a good time tonight.

Chemo and Camp

So I've now finished my first round of chemo!!! And well I feel fine, the day/ days after my body just gets so tired. Like sometimes I'm too tired to even sit up, which sucks. Yesterday there was a point though that my brain was wide awake but my body was too tired... very strange. But I'm feeling much better today which is nice. My first chemo session was split into two because my doctors didn't want me to wait another week, but because of the length of one of the drugs (which takes all day) I wasn't able to do it all in one day. But next time it'll all be one shot.
And this evening I'm off to visit my camp since its parents night, oh man remember this blog? That was what I would've been going to today... but probably blogged after... I'm super excited cause a lot of people go back even those who don't work there anymore. Which is super awesome! And I may even get to see some old campers!!!
And I'M SUPER EXCITED for tomorrow cause I'm off to see Harry Potter at 8 o'clock. Hehehe. One of my neighbours somehow got me tickets to a private screening so me and my fam are heading down to watch the epic battle before anyone!!! It was kinda funny cause when my Dad heard originally he assumed I was taking him with, which I wasn't. But then I learned my neighbours were going too... and I dunno originally I was going to see it twice within a few hours so taking my family seemed like a good choice. But I've decided to not go to the midnight screening cause I've been so tired and going to bed by 11:30 and well I realized that movie will finish at like 2 and that's too late for lil 'ole me! And having those screening tickets made the decision not too hard. But I'm happy to take my family (my mom doesn't care, but what ever she can just suck it up) but this morning my brother was actually for the first time super excited and my dad being the only other to have read the series like I said was excited from the start. He even yesterday stopped by Much Music to get pics of Matthew Lewis for me! And he got really good ones! Unfortunately they're on his phone, so I can share... but when I get 'em they'll be posted. So as of now I'm just over 24 hours ( I actually don't know what time the movie starts... just that the doors open at 7:30) from seeing the final Harry Potter film ever. I dunno how I feel about this... mixed emotions are probably best.
Anyway to answer your question Lee I've only been to 3 countries, so I don't need my parents... Canada (which unlike all of you I can say I was a tourist too when I live in New York), United States (prior to living in and living out of), and France ( the most special place I've been too, since I don't frequent it.) The thing is for me my parents can't afford to get us plane tickets to places so we mostly drive around. Only twice has my family flown for our vacation, when we went to PEI (too far to drive) and Washington (so we'd actually have time to see it, cause driving would've taken a really long time.) Any who that's my list, and well lets just say the desirable list is much longer. Which is why I plan on doing a semester abroad hopefully in Europe so I can visit all of those places on the weekends!
OK that's it. Pre-Post Potter Film Depression
Miah

Oh the places I have gone

So I'm going to write this list off the top of my head, because my parents are out and can't help me atm.

Places I have been:
  • Canada
  • Scotland (as a wee lass)
  • USA
  • Germany
  • Austria (for a day)
  • England
  • Denmark
  • Sweden (for a day)
  • St. Martin
  • St. Thomas
  • Bahamas
  • France
  • Belgium
Cool! Now it's time to clean my kitchen.

Last Potter Monday

I just got home from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1. Miah you would be pleased to know that I screamed at just the right moment and very loudly might I add! I have decided that I am not emotionally prepared for the last movie. I will let you know how I did next week!

Lee I love your question! I asked my parents and came up with a list of 14 countries! That is a lot of places to have gone at only 19 years old. Ok so here is the list (in no special order):

  • Canada (duh!)
  • United States of America
  • Mexico
  • France
  • St. Martin
  • St. Thomas
  • Puerto Rico
  • St. Lucia
  • Dominica
  • Dominican Republic
  • Curacao
  • Aruba
  • Bahamas
  • Virgin Gorda

I don’t know what to do next Monday without Harry Potter!

Till next time,

Rae <3

Where in the World has RELM been?

I just finished a pretty cool book by Dean Koontz called The Face. Kind of a… thriller I guess? With a bit of supernatural stuff thrown in. (Miah, hardly any messing with time. That isn't to say none, though!)

Rae, I really liked your question this week. It's interesting to see, in a list, how much of Canada we've been to.

As a sort of extension to Rae's question…
What countries have you been to?
And let's not include like 2-hour stop-overs. At least a day, if not a night, spent in that country. (I am actually thinking of Austria, which I visited for like 8 hours probably. That counts, right?)

Who knew?

Hello my friends!!
I haven't seen any of you in a few days because i went to the cottage on the weekend, which was absolutely gorgeous I must say. I played some tennis, I tried wake boarding again (it only took me three tries to get up! But then I let go after like 30 seconds cuz I got tired :P), I biked into town - it was lovely. I also ate like a queen because my aunt was there and she's a fantastic cook, so that was also kinda sweet :)
So, when I first read the Friday Question for this week my initial response was going to be Ontario and Alberta because those are the only two places I've lived and, up until a few minutes ago, the only places I thought I'd been to. But then I got a little curious, maybe I had been to another province when I was younger and I just don't remember, so I asked my parents and, needless to say, my list now surprises even me! Take a look:

  • BC
  • Alberta
  • Saskatchewan + Manitoba (we drove through those two)
  • Ontario
  • Quebec
  • New Brunswick
  • Nova Scotia
  • PEI
Isn't it beautiful?! I have these memories of beaches and stuff from when I was younger I just never knew where we were - turns out I've been all over Canada! :)

Also Rae, that Wizard Love video had me laughing out loud - so loud in fact my parents were wondering what I was doing in the next room :P I really enjoyed it!
And Miah, I hope your chemo wasn't too scary for you, I was thinking of you all day today <3
And Lee how in the world did you find a cupcake decorating class? That sounds like so much fun!! We'll have to get together and bake some cupcakes so you can show me your skills :P

I hope everyone's weekend is sunny and fun!!
Till next time
Evie :D
