Whoops!
I forgot to blog this week because I was busy visiting Rae and packing and traveling up to my cottage :) Which so far has been a blast!
Yesterday was literally the perfect summer day; it was sunny all day, it was hot but there was a breeze plus (no big) we're at the cottage so we can always jump in the (68˚F brrrrrr!) water. It was also such a typical cottage day where my dad manages to get all the kids working out in the hot sun putting in the tracks :P But it was kind of fun.....well honestly it was just a ton of manual labour. Preeeeetty sure everyone's hands are at least a little sore from gripping giant pieces of iron and dragging them around. The tracks are for the boat, which goes in the cradle which we lower into the water - HA! turns out we're not even done the tracks my dad's trying to enlist me again! We gotta put in one more support, make sure the cradle doesn't break the tracks ya know? So yea, the cottage is now complete. Especially because we brought the boat back to the cottage from the marine-boat-keeping-place or whatever it's called.
It's a little exciting today because there's supposed to be a storm coming in this afternoon and it's always fun to watch because one wall of our cottage is floor to ceiling windows. We get a good view :P
Happy Belated Canada Day by the way :) We did a mini celebration last night with a couple of fireworks but we saved the majority of them for tonight cuz we have a big party planned for tonight, which actually seems like a bit of a bad idea, what with the storm rolling in and all. Plus we're all gonna be drinking so who's gonna light them off without setting the bucket on fire? Oh well, it'll be an adventure no matter what right? I guess that's all we can expect :)
As for my question this week, being the youngest and by far the quietest, I think that where you are, age wise, in the family means a lot. Though I do also think that personality is important, obviously you can be the oldest and super shy or the youngest and super outgoing. I agree with Lee that being the youngest is much less pressure because I'm doing everything for the third time according to my parents so by the time I'm doing stuff my parents are all 'been there done that' ya know? BUT, that means that I also feel like I can't catch up, like no matter what I do it's never enough because I'll never be able to do whatever it is at the level my sister or brother can. Which kinda sucks. Also I get ignored, a lot. It's like because I felt ignored when I was younger I would yell and scream a lot so my siblings developed their tuning out skills so when I talk sometimes I have to say things more than once or twice to get their attention. Which also sucks - I mean, it doesn't do much for my confidence.
So I like being the youngest for I guess the advice and stuff but I think (like with every position in the family) it comes with some serious baggage too.
That's my opinion!
Till next week guys, I'm gon go enjoy some more cottage life :D
