New Years Eve

Good afternoon guys!!
Can you believe it? it's New Years Eve. Tomorrow it will be 2012! Where did this year go? Although it's been fun, I am very ready to get rid of this year, and bring in the New Year.
Anyway, I have had a good week, and xmas was so fun. I same my whole family, and finally got to see my cousin, who is now engaged! Which is really excited, in 2013 they are having their wedding in Punta Cana, which will be really exciting. I got lots of nice things, and the biggest one i got was a nice new eReader, which i'm very happy with. Now I don't have to pack hundreds of books when i go on vacation, and i can just download them onto this little thing. Ha-ha. And I got one of my new favourite tv shows on DVD, Vampire Diares, which if you haven't watched it, you should. It sounds really lame, but it's actually quite good and it's nothing like the Twilight movies, so not to worry.:P And last night I had a nice evening with my second family at dinner, and then with Evie and another friend where we played some pool, and went out for a walk and got stuck in the rain. Ha-ha

Anyway, I must go and get ready for my dinner tonight. I am family a family New Years dinner with my family, and then I am helping bring in the New Year with my friends, and we are having a large party which will always be fun.:) How do you guys celebrate New Years? Staying at home, nice and warm watching the ball drop in New York, or bring there when it happens? :)
Anyway, i shall be seeing, Evie, Lee, Miah, AND Sari tonight as well as all of our other friends.:)
I hope you guys all have a nice week and i will be seeing you guys in 2012!!! (So weird.;P)

It's been a whirlwind of parties! phew!

Tomorrow's New Year's Eve!! Which sadly also means I'm late by a whole day for my blog :P I can't remember the last time I actually blogged on a thursday...
But yes, today was the second last day of 2011. Kinda crazy to think about, another year passing. When I have my birthday in 2012 I'm gonna be turning 20, woah! Cross that bridge when I get to it hah.
So I had a pretty good Christmas, I was pretty exhausted by the time Christmas Day actually came around because I had parties like every day for an entire week before and one on Christmas Day. Man I was tired. It was nice spending the day with my family though, sometimes it just makes me think, when we're all sitting around the kitchen table eating breakfast together (at 11:30 hah, I'm the youngest at 19) how nice it is to have a family as close as mine. Love that closeness! Hooray! And I got some sweet presents; a straightener (like the nicest one I've ever used. no joke.), a new top (my sister picked it out so naturally its super stylish AND flattering), a cd+dvd of Adele doing a live performance (one word: AMAZING, can't get enough of her songs), chocolate (obvi :P), the most hilarious pajamas from my grandma (prison break style pajamas :P white and navy blue horizontal stripes, with a bit of pink trim! I've worn them a couple times and they're super soft and warm so I'm not complaining I just appreciate the humour in the situation too), oooo and money for the movies which I LOVE getting :D.
This past week was a little busy too but I sort of feel like I'm staaarrrting to get back into my own rhythm again, which I like. I also had a good talk with my mom today which helps!
Well I'm really excited to see ppl tmr night at the party. We'll eat some good food and chat and visit and it's just gonna be fun - yay!!

Fast

Literally the fastes blog I will ever make.

I've had no time today, currently on my way home from dinner at an ok Italian restaurant. Though Christopher Reeve and Danny Divito both had visited... My reasoning for it being ok, it didn't have a basic pasta or spaghetti and meatballs. For me it's all about the basics that make you better then the rest.

Anywho on my way home, writing on my iPhone. Once home I'll be getting my final final post chemo shot (something I needed after getting two infections resulting in two blood transfusions,) then I'll keep reading Mokingjay-- the third book of the Hunger Games, easily one of the best series I have ever read. I don't get bored! And I get bored by books a lot. After reding at bit I seriously need to sleep. Having a heard time keeping my eyes open now.

Happy New Year Everyone! Can't wait to see you all, and let's get ride of 2011 once and for all ( fair to say its been the worse year of my life.)

The Haul

Hey all, Lee here (a bit late, as usual).

First, a run down of some holiday gift highlights:

• A great new coat and hat- really love them
• Feist's new album Metals
• George Harrison's ex-wife's autobiography (oh and she's also Eric Clapton's ex-wife)
• A sweet magnifying glass- very pretty and medieval-looking
• A nice dress, with sweet shoes to match
• Home-made cookies, decorated in a very creative way (for example, one gingerbread man had a full digestive system drawn out)
• And of course a lovely hot chocolate mug with accompanying hot chocolate+marshmallows, as well as a pretty day planner and pen. Thanks Rae!

In other news, this holiday season has turned out to be somewhat lazy! I almost miss exam week, in which I was doing more and seeing more people. However, I do relish the time spent with my family; the full nuclear family, seeing as my sister is back from Calgary for a few weeks.

Yesterday, my sister and I, who have developed a bit of a crush on actor Richard Armitage* – the very embodiment of Tall, Dark and Handsome – watched most of North & South, a somewhat boring miniseries (on Netflix). Oh gosh it was worth it for the ending. (When I say we watched most of it, I mean we watched the first and last episode, and saw select scenes from the two in the middle). It's sort of Pride and Prejudice-y, and at the end the guy gets the girl, or the girl gets the guy, and it's just amazing. Amazing.

Also a few days ago I watched Notting Hill- probably the best of its genre. I'm not even exaggerating; it's so full of heart, it's clever, the acting is great, and, well, it's got it all.

Any other suggestions for super romantic, and yet somewhat respectable movies?

Boxing Day?

I have to make this blog kinda short cause again i'm on my grandma's slow internet and it's my moms birthday..so we're celebrating :)

So this may sound kind of weird, but I've never actually experienced "Boxing Day"...I'm always visiting my grandma at this time and the US doesn't have boxing day. Also, the "Black Friday" in November that the US has for great sales? Yeah, I always miss that too because I'm in Canada then. Haha clearly I'm bad with getting good deals on things!!

Apparently Boxing Day is absolutely crazy because it is soooo busy?

Also, today is my mom's birthday! So today we've just been hanging around and celebrating! I made brownies and was bored with regular brownies so I decided to get creative. However, they basically taste the same. I bought this fudge mix to add with the brownies and put m&m's in the mix as well. They basically all just melted and it tasted just like regular brownies..but whatever :p Brownies are still amazing :)

Isn't it weird how my next blog will take place in 2012!?!?!? HOW CRAZY IS THAT!? I feel like 2011 just started!!!! I hope everyone has a safe & happy new year and I'll talk to you guys again in 2012! Does anyone have crazy new years plans?!

Eventful week

Good late evening ladies and gents,

It has been a complete action packed week. I started my week off with getting my beautiful new TATTOO on my right shoulder blade. I love it, cause it represents my family, both present and future. It's a nautical star which has two different colours in each of the points. One side is red and one side is black. The red represents my present family, and the black represents my future. It was fairly painful getting it at first, but then i started to get use to it and just numbed out the pain. I also have a fairly high pain tolerance which comes in handy a lot. Ha-ha. But it looks great, and is healing very nicely right now.:)
And then I got to see people I haven't been able to see in a while, and had a nice and fun chat with them. We did a secret santa thing, and thank you to my santa for the great present.:) Then I got to go out for dinner with my best friend who I haven't been able to see since she goes to school farther away. And then the two of us got together with our other best friend. It's been a while since the three of us were together, and it was great to just be able to chill out, order in food, and talk about different things. We had a great time just talking about things that have happened to us, and funny moments we have had in past years together. Haha, it was one of the best times I've had in a while and laughed that hard. These two girls I have known forever, and we always have the greatest times together.:)
And NOW in two days it will be Christmas. I only have one more present to get and I will be done!:D I actually went into a shopping mall the other day....and never again will i make the mistake of bringing my car. It was one of the scariest moments of my life. People right now are CRAZY while shopping, honking and yelling, and doing all these things just to get parking spots. Anyway, it will all be over in two days and we can all get back to our regular lives. Although I always love seeing my family. It's always fun around my house. Because my older brother is an actor, he seems to ALWAYS find it necessary to be impressions of people, and such while opening presents. It's always a laugh with him around in our house. You'll hear about three different sides of stories with him and my dad around, from when he was younger.
Anyway I'll let you all go get on with your shopping.

Partying partying yeah! Fun, fun, fun, fun :P

Good lord this week was busy :O phew! I actually have had a holiday party everyday since like saturday. I am so tired, like you wouldn't really think that eating out every night would be that bad but I miss like sitting around the table with my family eating stir-fry...mmmm stir-fry. I miss stir-fry. That is I miss my dad's homemade stir-fry :P BUT I definitely also had SO much fun this week!! I got to visit with so many people and I met a bunch of new people, I attended both of my family xmas parties and got chocolates from both joke gift exchange events :D Can't complain right? Plus I randomly got my xmas shopping done like last week so I didn't have to worry about that all this week which was really nice cuz it wouldn't have been super fun braving the chaos of xmas shopping so close to the day and feeling the stress of last minute shopping. You know those moments 'Oh watever they'll probably like it, I'll just get it anyway' those are the not fun moments of xmas shopping :P So I got the 'OOooooo she/he'll love this!!' moments instead and I'm very pleased with the gifts I'm giving. Hooray!
So our party this week was fun ya?? Lots of chatting and dancing and eating and exchanging presents. The signs of a good part my friends :) and OMG how embarrassed was I when got that prank gift GOOD LORD, not sure my face could have gone redder hahah :P AWKwarrrrrd. BUT my secret santa gift was Amzing!! I love books! You know me too well Miah :P I haven't started either one yet but like I said it's been a crazy week.
OH! I also worked a christmas party this week too. On Wednesday and there were like 100 people there all lookin fancy and eating fancy food. They sang some carols later in the evening (aka after they'd all had enough to drink :P). It was pretty good actually, like not as stressful as it could have been which is nice. I made like $150 which is also nice ;P I defs need the money right now. I keep thinking bout getting a job cuz I feel like I want more money so I'm keeping that on the back burner, who knows what the new year will bring!! This past year brought so much right? :)
I too am sorry we missed you Sari! We got another week to have a visit though so I'm sure we'll see you!
I think that while this season can get crazy with the like constant partying, it's also really really nice to see people I don't see very often. Even if I don't get a good long talk in with them, it's still nice to just say hi and ask them briefly how life is going and stuff. And hopefully I have another week of visiting as well as a super fun new year's do to party at!!

Hanukkah Party

So I'm doing this again, blogging via the iPad. I was going to o upstairs at around 11, but I've discovered that there's a new episode of the Graham Norton show, and I'm very excited! Anyway I had a blast with everyone last night, and thank you Sari for my present! Though you were very missed and we need to get together while you're on break.

So a few things. Yesterday was the first night of Hanukkah, and well it's actually not that big of a holiday. Like if you miss a night it's ok, and well commercialism has simply made it as big as it is. That being said this Saturday, yes Christmas eve is my family's Hanukkah party. We've made every joke about this possible. Only those who haven't been bar/bat Mitzvahed will get presents ie plural, the rest of us partake in a secret Santa sort of exchange. The biggest part of the party, the thing that everyone who can count past 20 partakes in VERY SERIOUSLY is the dreidel game. Everyone must come equipped with $5 worth of dimes, and that means this years total is $140. Tables of 5/6 people spin it out then each table gets a winner, then those winners have a finale. I've never won it all, though made it into the finals twice. Once I split the winnings with 3 other people since they were all from the same family and had an unfair advantage of winning it all. Oh yeah the seating rule ( like when we start the first round) you can't sit with those you share a house with. Long story short really excited for this, it's always loads of fun!

Also today I went to the hair dresser and officially shaved off all of my hair. I had kept some as a fear of loosing it all and an experiment to see how much would fall. Its wasn't as emotional as I thought, and yeah, I'm bald bald now. So here we grow!

Successful Secret Santa!

Hello people,

I'm falling asleep, so I'm afraid I have to make this a short one. Secret Santa was fun today! I am very excited to try out my new hot chocolate + mug, and I have to decide what clever things to write in my day planner. Because I can't just write my day's plans. No, I have to write something clever. Most definitely. Using the sweet pen that came with it. Thanks Rae!!

It was nice seeing everyone today; too bad we missed you, Sari! But yes, when you come back to Toronto we will go for fun times- very fun times!

I really am falling asleep. I guess I've napped the past few days, so I'm not used to going the whole day without a nap (not including the short one I had this evening while watching SNL or whatever).

In other news, my mom and sister are picking up my sister's boyfriend from the airport. Cool! The more the merrier, in this household! Tomorrow, we might see my brother. He's super busy at work, but I think things will let up closer to Christmas. All in all, I think the house will go through some pretty packed times!!

Florida & Detroit Airport & Dial-Up Internet

Ahhhh Mars, that is soooooooo exciting about getting a horse!! Let us know when you have a show because I definitely wanna come see! :)

Ok so I'm currently at my grandma's house in Florida and her internet is terrible! She still has dial-up, so when you log-on, it makes those weird sounds and sounds like you're calling someone, it cuts off her phone line (so i try to stay on the internet for as short of a time as possible) and takes a ridiculously long time to load anything on the internet. But then again, whenever I complain about the internet problems, my parents lecture me about how I shouldn't be on the internet and I should take advantage of the weather and things to do outdoors. Ok, they have a good point. But still!! I guess I've just become accustomed to wi-fi: it's fast and you can use your computer anywhere.

Yesterday, my mom and I flew to Florida and we had a connecting flight in Detroit...which was a really cool airport! Whenever we have connecting flights, usually we connect in Atlanta, Charlotte, or Philadelphia, so Detroit was a nice change. I tried to take pictures on my phone to show you the tunnel and water fountain that they had, but it didn't do a good job actually capturing them. So, I'll just explain them :p

There was this tunnel (really longggg) that had those moving sidewalk things on both sides. However, the part that was really cool was that the walls and the ceiling were these glass-like panels that kept changing colours. Basically, you would be standing on this moving sidewalk for 4 minutes (no joke, it was a long tunnel) and all you would see is different colours! It was AWESOME! And when you got upstairs and reached a new terminal, they had this modern water fountain that was really cool.

(Note: please bare with me for this explanation...I tried to explain it to my dad yesterday on the phone and he had no idea what I was talking about...so hopefully I do a better job now. This is why I wanted a photo hahah). Ok so about a meter off the ground was this black, circle rock (it's a big rock...about the length of approximately 3-4 cars). The top of the rock was completely flat, with about 10 holes on it. The holes were really small (about the size of a water bottle cap) and they were equally positioned on the surface. Then, water would shoot out of one hole and land on another hole on the opposite side of the rock. All of the holes were shooting water simultaneously. It was really cool cause none of the water would land on the top of the rock and overflow, but you would constantly see water keep shooting out from different holes and then just disappearing in different holes. Hahah i hope that makes sense...because it was really cool when I saw it but I feel like I don't really know how to explain it lol.

Done Done Done!

Ladies and Gentlemen, I am DONE!!!!!!

Woohoo!! I finished my last two exams today, and I am SO HAPPY!!!! I don't think I have even been so stressed in my life. Party week...here I come!!=D I have so much planned for next week. Haha dinners, parties, and hanging out with friends again. Haha, but it should be fun.:) All of the people in my program went out for drinks after we finished our last exam....Although it was kind of like 1pm in the afternoon....but it's cool. Hahahaha.

Hmmm, I'm not ure what else happened....ACTUALLY, I have finally gotten my wish and my parents have finally caved in. I AM GETTING A HORSE!!!! Well not ALL mine. I am leasing it from a woman up in New Market, for the 2012 show season which i am actually SO excited for. I don't think I've ever been so excited for anything.:P Riding has helped me throughout the years to just forget about things and such while riding, even just for a little bit. And I haven't been riding at all because of school, so to have my outlet for energy back is nice.:) Her name is Sweety, and I love her. Haha, she's going to be a great eventer.=) All you guys should come see her when we start to do some eventing.:) (ie. Sari, Miah, Evie, and Lee).:) It'd be a lot of fun.:)

Anyway, I must go. I think I'm going to go and die in a hole now. Haha friend now has a cat and I am slightly allergic to cats. Haha, what happens is if i tough the cat then touch my face (ie. my eyes, or my nose) my eyes become red, itchy and watery, and my nose will run, and i can't breath. Haha, so pretty much i become a hot mess.:P But I forgot to wash my hands after i touched the cat, and my eye got itchy so i rubbed it....big mistake....Haha.

Anyway, i shall stop rambling on about my cat allergies, and let you all get back to your busy days ahead.:P

I am the DANCING QUEEN......at least that's how I feel sometimes :P

Woo everyone is done exams! Awesome :)
I'm excited to do lots of visiting and stuff over the break, I think it will be fun! And I feel like last week's blog was a little short and kinda weird so yea, hahah sorry bout that! You know I can't even make it up to you this week because not too much has happened.
Oh wait! Hold on, I worked this past Sunday and I made like over one hundred dollars, woo! I was pretty pleased. And you know it went super well, sometimes it can be really stressful cause it's catering and so many things can go wrong. Like mostly I do coat check so I could potentially lose somebody's coat (which has happened before...it was a mink coat :S), or if I'm serving I could drop something or if I'm helping set up OR take down there are so many things that could happen...I shudder just thinking about it :P BUT having said that Sunday went smoothly all around. I set up the coat check with my fellow co-worker (and good friend) and so we got out of setting up the downstairs and then people started arriving so I was at the door all night doin the coat check thing....it was kwl. I did a couple rounds cleaning up empty glasses but overall so not stressful compared to other times I've worked. So hooray for that!
Week number 2 of not having guitar but I'm still looking up new songs so I haven't missed it too much yet. New favourite song? Blue or Gray by Jaymay - check it out :)
Okay so I also went out last night WOO. With a new crowd which was like, SO fun - yay! It was someone's 19th bday so the whole night was just epic - three different places which does mean that we only spend like a short time at each place but you know the last place we hit up was the BOMB. I had such a good time dancing guys, you dont even know :P

Holy Fucking Freedom

Hey all, I'm finally done! I can hardly believe it. I finished up today with Genetics, and it was decent. I kind of thought it would be the easiest of the 4 exams, but I was suprised by the amount of detail we had to remember from lectures. Less about theory, more things like "what three pieces of evidence, discussed in lecture, support the multi-hit model of cancer development?" Luckily I remembered all 3 :P

Afterwards, my brother, his girlfriend, my grandfather and I went for lunch at a lovely Swiss restaurant where they specialize in chicken (lol). Good times were had by all, and now I'm back on campus to celebrate the end of exams with friends, most of whom have finished (some of whom unfortunately don't finish until Monday or Tuesday).

I really can't wait to see you all this break. Miah, congrats on finishing your two bonus chemos! Let me know how the latest one went. I know that when you heard about the 2 extras many weeks ago, yesterday must have seemed impossibly far away. But you've done it, and if your doctor is true to his (her?) word, you're done! Like the real done!

Books

Have any of you guys (other then Mars) played Words With Friends? Cause I AM ADDICTED! Strangely though, cause I'm not one for Scrabble. Spelling was never my thing... As of now I'm playing with a bunhc of strangers and Mars.

Anyway, in other news.

Like Sari I'e been reading the Hunger Games, though it's no coincidence. Sari, Mars and I decided to read it together. Though I read it a lot faster since I have a lot of spare time on my hands. But, OH-MY-GOD is it good. Like you actually get hooked within the first two chapters and seriously can not stop. Well you can, but you really have to force your self. And dude, things are so messed up! I honestly could've read that book in 3 days, which is abnormal for me since I'm a slow reader. Anywho I'm waiting to get the second one since at Hanukah I usually get a plenty of gift cards, some Indigo. So in the mean time I wanted to read something else, equally as good, but not as intense. Like I actually had to take a deep breath at the end of one chapter. Its like Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows good, you know? Like how each page you don't know if someone might die? Ach so good! Anyway since I'll be in chemoville tomorrow (Yeah! Actual last one!!! Not as excited this time round, cause I already went through those emotions and I don't want to disappoint myself again... but my doctor did promise last one.) I wanted to read something on my iPad because I don't need both hands to hold it up and turn pages (my iv usually ends up in my right hand area, aka dominant hand,) also since I plan on going to Montreal soon it'll mean only one thing to pack! Which really applies to both MTL and chemo. Since my sessions are all day long I bring a bag with food, water, ipad, the blanket that my late grand-mother knit, the occasional book/magazine. Not to mention my purse and coat... I probably should put my wallet and stuff inside the purse in the bag... Anyway its alot, and by the end of chemo I'm too weak to carry the bag so my mom usually takes it, oh yeah my mom has her own bag and stuff. Soo back to my rambiling point. I wanted to read a book on my iPad, and I enjoy reading off iBooks more then the Kobo app cause its easier, more appealing to look at, I have iTunes money vs. paying with visa, and more its authentic. But whats annoying is that iBooks doesn't have a whole lot of selection, though it is gaining. Proof? The Something Borrowed series wasn't available in iBook when I got it, but it is now! And it's a series I've wanted to read for a while so we shall see how it goes! Also I like reading series and I like looking at series, especially ones as plainly, simply and colourfuly designed as the Something Borrowed series. As of now, 3 pages in.

Sari I found it real interesting that you also decide on things to do during the break. And also get very little done of that. I too have certain things I only do during my breaks. I play Sims (though I need to redownload it), read, write something, and something(s) crafty. This year I want to play Sims (easy to accomplish), read a few books Hunger Games was one of them and we shall see where I go from there. I have a few ideas for books and plays... and finally there are two crafty things I want to do. Well three, but the third takes a lot of though. Finish my never ending Harry Potter scarf, its gotten heavy and knitting takes a lot of effort! Do a cool tie-die effect shirt, and, design another shirt for my website. I actually had an idea today, but like I said that takes a lot of thought. Question, are Sari and I the only ones who do this? Plan things to do over breaks?

So... I think that's long enough. I'm off to watch the X FACTOR! Go Melanie! And boooo Nicole. While sticking on my Dad's lables for his holiday card.

Exams? Done!

Hey Everyone!!

So I am finally done with my exams and now I'm HOME!!!! The only downside is now I'm sick :( It's kinda like my body knew it had to wait until I was finished with exams to get sick...because literally, my last final was on Thursday and Friday morning when I woke up it was like BAM! Ughhh I hate the winter because thats always when I get sick! I went to the doctors this morning and found out I have laryngitis and the only way for my voice to get better is by NOT talking. This is actually realllyyyyy difficult!!! Nice thing is though, I'm feeling much better now. The only thing that I have left is my lack of a voice, but my fever, cough, etc. are all gone!

Once I finished my last exam on Thursday, I made a list of EVERYTHING that I wanted to accomplish over break. Is it just me or when you make a list of things you want to accomplish, you always view yourself as like some type of superhero? I always put soooo much stuff on my list and am lucky if I accomplish at least 10% of it.haha.

Just PART of my list includes: Watch all of season 3 of Vampire Diaries, catch-up on Glee (i'm 3 episodes behind), read the Hunger Games, read the book 1984, read this book series my friend gave me (4 books x 300 pages each), order my textbooks for next semester...etc.

Yeah, all that I've done is read 7 chapters of the Hunger Games and watched a ton of random YouTube videos. (by the way, THIS BOOK IS AMAZING! IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY READ IT, YOU SHOULD. I'M ONLY LIKE 85ish PAGES IN, AND ITS SO SO SO SO SO SO GOOOD!!!!)

I seriously cannot motivate myself to do anything ahah. Part of me is mad at myself for not sticking to my list, but the other part of me doesn't care. I seriously would rather just eat chocolate chip cookies and watch random videos..because it gives my mind a break from actual school work :)

Anyways, I should probably try to accomplish more stuff on my list... :p

I'll keep you updated next week on my progress! but, don't get your hopes up, cause it probably won't be too much!! :)

Good Saturday evening to everyone tonight.=)

I have a great week again. I am finished ALL of my projects for the semester!!! I finished my last one of friend about my wine (we each got a type of wine, and had to pick a type that was derived from the main wine) and it was a lot of fun. We got to present it to the class, and talk about a recipe that we also to do pair with our wine and why we chose that specific dish.

And on Friday, my family went to the Distilary district to have dinner with some family friends, and my step-grandmother who also got us tickets to see "Parfumerie" which was fabulous. It's a whole comedy with 2 different stories in it. It's a lot of fun with them, and we went to this really cool restaurant, and they had pictures and such around the restaurant showing what it use to look like inside. After that, I came home, changed and then went BACK out to the Nightmare Before Christmas thing going on at a bar/club, with some friends from school, which was really cool.
And now I've been studying for my exams, which are all of next week. But I don't think I'll be studying too hard tomorrow, seeing as it's my "sisters" boyfriends company party, and all of her family and me are going. Haha, Should be fun. Drinks, dancing, and live music. I'm really excited. Haha. But we put our Christmas tree up today, well the tree and the lights. We are decorating it tomorrow. And the whole time my mum and I were singing along to Christmas music, and bouncing around my living room. Haha.

Now I must go, finish studying and practice singing (my parents might get me singing lessons for christmas and i haven't sung in forever. ie. not in public/in front of others.) Hopefully I shall see y'all next week.:)

My week was good, the first week i didn't have guitar lessons in a while i guess, which is sad but I'm already looking up a billion songs to play so thats exciting :)

I did a bunch of bike/runs with ma sister and once with another friend so thats fun am i right??

Unlike the two before me I am DONE and DONE. I finished with my two courses yesterday afternoon once submitting an online paper. Unlike most places, I don't have final exams instead final projects and critiques. Critiques happen a week after official classes finish and teachers can either decide to do them or not., and well only 1 of my 2 teachers decided to have a critique.

Anyway. What to do with my month long break? Well there's chemo, and hopefully that'll actually be my final one. A possible trip to Montreal, and that's pretty much all I have actually planned. Oh also I'm seeing Hair when it comes to Toronto.

For now I'm doing projects to keep me busy. Like right now I'm building a photo book with iPhoto for the French exchange I did in 2008... better late then never! It was a trip that I went on the the original four of this blog, and though there were moments, it was a great trip.

Also today I went to a program for women with cancer to learn how to apply make-up, especially tricks to make it appear that you have things like eye lashes and eyebrows. Which was really why I went, because like Ma, S, L, and E know I'm not the greatest fan of make up. I dunno I prefer nothing on, kinda whipped it all off when I go home... Though it was really informative Also I did take a picture, but its on my phone... Oh and I'm NEVER going to ever go back to nail salon. Right now I'm not allowed to paint my nails, but yeah never again. One thing I learned today, don't pump your mascara, that gets air into it and then it dries faster. Also avoid water proof mascara (unless you're going to a wedding where you plan on crying) because it's really hard to wipe off and you're basically tugging on your eyelashes. Though actually we didn't do eyeliner or anything like that on me because MY EYE LASHES ARE GROWING BACK! And so we don't want to damage the new lashes. Oh I should mention I went to the Teen one today, and well I was the only one. Like the woman said it's hard to find young women and girls with cancer. But the hair guy did tell me about a program for young adults with cancer, and it sounds AWESOME so I cannot wait.

Ok back to my book. If I finish by December 12th I can get in time for Christmas, which means I can take it with me to Montreal to show my grandparents. :D

Coming Home!

Heyyyy Everyone!

I'M COMING HOME THIS FRIDAY...AND I'M SOOOO PUMPED! I SERIOUSLY CANNOT WAIT :)

I know i'm late posting, and once again I apologize for that. This time, however, it was due to a lack of time, rather than my terrible brain. Yesterday, I had my astronomy final and my moral philosophy final, and this morning I had my world literature presentation. Everything has been crazy and it's not over yet!

For my world literature presentation, we are in groups of 4 and we all had to reach a play (my group had Ajax) and do a 20-minute presentation on it as well as a 25 minute video. Let's just say I'm extremely bad with editing and totally underestimated the amount of time that it would take to complete it. My astronomy final last night finished at 8:30pm and I basically stayed up for the remainder of the night/morning? working on it...Today I'm dead tired but it was worth it. We had to show a modern day interpretation of the play, so instead of having two warriors, we had two gangsters. One of the characters original name (from the play) was Menelaos, but we decided that a good gangster name would be Mo-Money...yeah..it was that type of movie. Also, the main character was having a "bad day" (since he went crazy and then killed himself..it was a very depressing play), so, at the beginning of the video, we have our entire group dressed up in overalls and yellow hoodies dancing along to the "Despicable Me" song. Although some parts were really embarrassing, it was a lot of fun looking back.

Anyways, so that was what I was doing all of yesterday and last night..and that's why I couldn't blog :( I'm sorry! Since I will have no school for the next month, however, I WILL DEFINITELY BE ON TIME FOR A SOLID MONTH! How amazing is that?!

On time!

Hello ladies and gentlemen!
I am on time this week! This week has been fun. I got to taste wine and eat cheese and bread yesterday for my "Eating and Dining" class which was really cool. This week we tasted red wine, and last week we had "desert" wines, and the week before it was white wines.=P I love my program! Haha. And I have been getting all my marks back so I know where i stand before exams...I am passing everything!! Spain here I come!! (My parents are letting me go to Spain if I pass all of my courses this semester.=D)
This weekend will be very busy (hence why I am blogging to early on Friday. Haha) because tonight I'm going out to this really cool bar/club tonight for my "sisters" (it's my friends sister, but she has become the older sister I never had. Haha) birthday bash with her family and her friends. Haha, Somewhere call "Tattoo Rock Parlor" which is cool and next week some of my friends are going to the "Tim Burton Nightmare Before Christmas" thing going on there. Haha, so it should be fun.
And tomorrow some of my friends and I are going out bar hopping (again. Haha, yes i've become a party girl.=P) and going to a club called Faces. So excited!=D I am going to be so dead by the end of this weekend. Haha. Anyway i shall let you all get back to work, or school or such cause I need to get back to my class. Haha

Feist is so cool...lovin the chills feel to her music :)

You know, technically it is Friday so I am blogging late but think about it this way: if I had blogged yesterday you wouldn't have been able to hear about the Feist concert till next week!
It was awesome. It was amazing. It was the best. And you know, it was so chills. Like during one of her songs a few people in the crowd stood up and started dancing (it was at Massey Hall so everyone was in seats) and she actually invited them up onto the stage to dance interpretively to her next song! It was hilarious and awesome. So then of course a bunch of other people wanted to dance on stage and it was basically all young people rushing the stage to get on and dance and stuff. And at first I was a little worried that the security or the ushers were gonna get all aggressive and start pulling people off but Feist was so cool about it; at the end of the song she just sorta said, "Well, I guess while you guys are all up here, why don't you just take a seat?" And so they got to sit on stage for the rest of the concert!! How freaking KWL is that? I'm not gonna lie I was a little jealous...but I think if I'd been on stage I would have been worried that some of the diehard fans around me would realize I didn't know the words to the songs and would like tar and feather me...or maybe just kick me off the stage :P Anyway, I really, really, really enjoyed myself it was such a cool, chills but epic concert. So thanks for inviting me Lee! And it didn't even matter that I didn't know many of the songs cuz the music was just so good I enjoyed it anyway! I might even get some of her new stuff that just came out :)
As for the rest of my week, I had my last guitar lesson till January when my brother and I will hopefully start up again. But I'm thinking maybe it's a good thing cuz our teacher gave us a bunch of songs that are somewhat difficult so I could use the time to practice and stuff :P I'll go back in January a PRO. Watch me.
Well, time to go for a bike/run with my sister I think (have I mentioned this tradition to you guys yet? My sister goes for long runs and I can't go for that long so I just bike beside her and get a sore bum? :P It's nice sister-bonding time though). Till next time

iPad Blog

Ok real fast, writing this on my iPad which has 17% battery left. I had an icky day today, headache all day so I spent it on the couch with my iPad. Yep super exciting I know.

Umm... It snowed today for the first time which is real exciting cause 1. The first snow is always exciting and 2. END OF WORST YEAR OF MY LIFE IS ALMOST DONE!!!!

Sari that poem was awesome! Lee I can understand the lost shirt ordeal. I lost a dress actually couldn't find it, I wore it to my grandmothers funeral and well I changed after at my aunts house so I even called asking if she'd seen the dress. Found it months later in the mess of my closet. yeah...

Anyways I miss all of you. And I hope we can all hang out soon.

Ok this is getting annoying to write, keeps freezing. I'm going to go back to watching the Graham Norton show. Currently Puff Daddy, a female comedien ( missed the intro and my box doesn't list info for the show) and Vince Vaughn are on and it's fantastic!

Weirdest thing happened today. Here's the set-up:

Four years ago, I went to a Feist concert and bought a white Feist t-shirt. Subsequently, maybe only a few weeks later, I realized I had lost it. Like I put it in the wash, but it never reappeared in the clean laundry hamper.

Over the past few years, I have sometimes thought of that shirt. That missing shirt, the one thing whose absence I feel distinctly. Most things that I lose, I probably don't even realize I've lost.

But today… lo and behold. In the latest batch of clean clothes… the missing Feist shirt. Just in time for the concert on Thursday. Creepy? Absolutely! Amazing? Absolutely!!!

Ok I gotta sleep, but I wanted to fill you guys in on today's supernatural event.

Sunday Sunday Sunday....last day off till the new week starts....I can't wait till winter break starts....=P

Well ladies and gentlemen I had a most eventful week, and it was so much fun! I have been getting marks back from all my mid-terms all week. At first I thought i had done really badly on all of them (I am not one to really study. And I didn't exactly study for any of them...:S) but when i got them all back I had done really well except on one which I did well on, but I would have liked to be a little higher.

Anyway, on Wednesday night my program leaders had organized a "Pub Crawl" night (ie. bar hopping). I didn't really want to go when i got home because I was tired, and cold. But I went anyway, and I am really glad I did. I met some new people in my program who I had never realized were in my program, and Drank and was merry with some of my friends that went as well. We went to a place called Toby's, played some pool for a bit, ate and watched the sports games that were going on, and then we walked over to a place called Sneaky Dee's. They have a special on, on Wednesday nights which was awesome and then we all danced the night away.

On Friday, my friends and I decided to go out to a Rocky Horror Picture movie thing that happens apparently every month which is kind of cool. People dress up and we watch the movie dance, and people actually act out the movie while it's going on. It was a lot of fun. And on saturday me and couple of friends from school went out a a bar called "The Hoxton" which was kind of cool. Its like a bar-ish club, they have a big bar, and a dance flood and a DJ booth kind of at the back. Its really neat.

Anyway. I should let you all go and do you chores and such.=P And get ready for the new week. Haha, anyway I shall see all you ladies and gents next week. I swear I'll be on time this time.=P

Angry lady in the TTC

Okay guys, I'm going into HYPER speed for this blog. I have t-minus 7 minutes to write this thing!

So tonight I'm going to a kids show (yes a show for children in a theatre :P don't be jealous) with a friend and it's gonna be super fun!! I'm all dressed up and stuff and we're going out for dinner before hand. We also got the tickets for $5 cuz her dad works backstage I think, how sick is that? :D anyway that's why I'm rushing. Also I know this is a tad late, but hey, are you so surprised?

Okay so I have a super depressing story from last night. I actually had a really good time cuz i went out with some peeps and we danced it up at a bar but getting down there was the WORST. I got my metropass confiscated because I was trying to sneak more than one person into the automatic entrance and (I didn't know this till last night, or maybe I just didn't think about it) they have cameras so this woman came on the speaker thingy saying she'd called security and stuff so I went to the other entrance, not realizing that that was where the lady was - the ANGRY lady I should add - and so when we tried to go through she told us to stop and asked to see my metropass. I, being a goody-two shoes (usually anyway), handed it over immediately thinking she was just checking that it was legit or something but then she's all "I'm confiscating this because you tried to commit fraud" and you guys, she was SO.ANGRY. Like I was looking her in the face and you could just see the judgement and anger radiating off of her. It was pretty awful needless to say. So now my parents don't have a metropass till next month. Did I mention that before? It wasn't exactly my metropass, it was theirs :S I haven't talked to my mom yet but hopefully she won't freak out too badly!
Yikes! Am I right?

Two Bonus Chemo's...

Uch, so I've had an emotional week. Anyone else?!?!

So here's the basic simple sitch, my mass decided to be too large for radiation to begin so tomorrow I'm going to my first of two bonus chemo's! Can you just feel my happiness and excitement bouncing off the page? Because of this, all of my cancer crap won't finish until late January/early-mid February.

So yeah, when I got the call that instead of starting radiation this Friday I'd be having chemo tomorrow. I got real depressed, angry, upset, disappointed, and pissed. It honestly felt that I got a call telling me I have cancer (which yes I know I already do), that's how scared and miserable I felt. I really just didn't want to talk to anyone, not even my parents and brother. There's times that I feel like I need to talk to a peer of mine, someone who gets exactly the hell I'm going through. But the thing is, I just need to remind myself why and what I'm living for. I need to laugh really hard and smile, and I eventually do pick myself up. Which I did by Sunday, though I am in a little bit of a funk, I do realize if I don't do these bonus two rounds I won't get better. I have this "just do it and get it over with" attitude to all of this, just crossing things off my list.

In similar news, my Dad bought me the Ella Enchanted soundtrack off iTunes, because its the only way I can own songs that Anne Hathaway songs (you can't buy singles with this album.) Which I am currently listening too. This inspired me to add Ella Enchanted to my digital collection of films which consists of Harry Potter's 1-6, Princess Diaries 1&2, and Little Manhattan ( a great movie that you should all see!) so my iTunes thinks I'm a 12 year old girl basically. I like to buy 1 movie or book onto my iPad before chemo, so Ella was the movie.

In other but more similar news, I had to do an assignment where I needed to make a video basically spreading awareness. So I slightly took the easy wrought and did Young Adult Cancer. This project was the final project of the class, and was meant to be done in groups. My teacher at the beginning of the year allowed me to choose between group or solo, and since groups would be too much pressure I went with solo. So here's all of the stories. 1. They were comical and EVERYONE was laughing. 2. My class usually ignores presentations, but everyone was paying attention to mine. The irony of this is my videos were about treating cancer patients the same way (with a little help,) and if it were a different situation I don't think they would have paid that much attention. (SIDE NOTE: Anne Hathaway's Somebody to Love just came on, this was how I was introduced to the song so I always think of her when I hear it. This is making me happy!) 3. I did three video's because 1 just didn't feel like enough since they were 2+ minuets each. Most groups did a video and a series of posters.The group right after me only did one 2+ minuet video. And well looked real bad going after me. Like really bad. Especially because (even though they said the video took 2 days to film) it could have been filmed in an hour and edited in 30 minuets. All they did was speed up some footage and add text and music. Needless to say I felt really good after this. Ma, S,L, E you guys can check them out on my Facebook page. Oh and 4. My teacher said I was a good actor for the content... I strong disagree.

OK gotta go to bed. Even though my drugs make me sleep all day so it really doesn't matter.

I'M HOMEEEEEEEEEEE! & late again...oops

Jeeez I'm late again...sorry! I seriously have issues with the days of the week! haha

I need to remember M O N D A Y that i MUST blog!! I just finished writing that in my planner so that I will not forget!!! Blogging is funnnn but I always get distracted with a billion other things and completely forget what day of the week it is!

Yesterday I had a test so I was totally distracted and I came home today :D AHHHHH I'M SO PUMPED TO BE HOME!!!!!! Don't get me wrong, school is a blast but I definitely missed being home :( It felt like I was gone for so long! (6 weeks!!)

Also, now that I'm home, I'll have time to catch-up on all of the work that i'm far behind in (and lets just say that is basically EVERY subject....procrastination is terrible terrible terrible). This means that I'm going to have time to write a poem for next week!!!! YAY! So, get excited for next week because: 1. I'm going to be ON TIME! Crazy right!? It's seriously going to be a miracle and 2. It's going to be a poem!! Don't get too excited because I'm not that creative..but I'll try :)

Anyways, now that I'm home, I've realized how much I missed being home...

I miss home-cooked meals (because regardless of how much the school says their food isn't THAT bad...it really is bad), I miss sleeping in my own bed (which is WAY comfier than my bed at school), I miss doing laundry at home (because the dryers at school shrink EVERYTHING and you always need to find quarters and wait in line when there are a lot of people using them), I miss seeing my friends from high school and skating, and I miss my familyyyy.

I know this probably sounds like I hate university..and that is NOT the case at all...it's just the fact that exam week is starting in 2 weeks, which is extremely stressful and I just can't wait for it to be over. When I'm home, I feel a lot less stressed, so I'm really happy to be home right now :)

I don't really have anything too excited planned for this week. Two things that I'm definitely going to do is read the Hunger Games and buy Adele's piano sheet music book! I've seen the trailer for the movie and now I'm even more pumped!! Also, I'm currently obsessed to the song "set fire to the rain" (or something like that...idk? haha)..It's overplayed but I still really like it and I also want to learn how to play "Someone Like You" on the piano...again overplayed..but I still like it :p hahah

Anyways, I have to unpack because my room is currently a MESS!!!! And I better get cracking on my homework so that I can start working on that amazing poem..jks!

Hi guys,

Hope all's well. I'm kinda tired so I'm not gonna do a humongous blog, especially since I also have some studying to do. I always have some studying to do, but exams are closing in, and it's about time I started studying for those.

Right now I'm just chilling, listening to some George Harrison. I cleaned off my desk so I can start seriously working again, which means I have access to my speakers again. (Which means George Harrison on full blast!)

Hmm I can't really think of what to write! Maybe this will have to be a super short blog.

Oh gosh. I just looked at my budget. This month alone, I've spend $105 on food. I've spent more otherwise, but just… omg. One hundred and five dollars on food. And I live at home, where my parents provide food. Gotta shape up! Gotta try not to spend it all on hot chocolates and lame sandwiches! But I guess it's kind of alright since I don't spend a tonne on other stuff, and since I'm working once or twice a week. But stillll!

K on that note I'm going to get to my studies. Hope to see you soon,

Hello Ladies and Gents.

So I realize it's Sunday, sorry guys, but it's been a bit of a crazy week and I completely forgot.:S But this is going to be a quick post cause it's my turn to cook dinner for my whole family. (Holy crap, i'm going to die)

So I've had a most exciting week. I shot out two projects this week and presented them BOTH on the same day, first in the class. Talk about pressure.:S But I think they went well, both of them I was in a group so i think we all came together and really worked together well. 34 pages for a trip to Egypt, and a presentation later we all did it! Haha. And another 15 page essay on our restaurant for my other class (we were in a group for that as well), we did it! Woohoo, I have two more projects, but they are easier then the last two.

The next two I am with a partner and in a group. One is about wine, we have to pick a wine and research it, pair it with the right foods, and make a meal from them and present it to the class. And the other is about marketing a trip to the Mayan Riviera. We have come up with a brochure, a logo, and a presentation to sell it. Can anyone say Fiesta?! Lol, we'll be having Pinatas, food, and other cool things.

Anyway, tonight I get the pleasure or making dinner for not only my brother and my parents, but my aunt, my older brother, and my sister-in-law! Woohoo! I'm making beef wellington (if anyone knows what that is, it's the best thing ever, and really hard to make.) I've made it multiple times now, and hopefully it will turn out as great as the last times!:)

My brain feels fuzzy and strange today

Awww Miah I miss you too!!
Well I'm a little late with the posting but hopefully this won't take too long so I won't delay Friday's post :P I'm feeling pretty tired today cuz I was hangin with friends last night and I didn't get to sleep till about 2:30am. Craziness! I had fun though, got a little tipsy on a Thursday haha so I too was feeling a little rebellious!

So my sister's home from Halifax. She's officially moved back in and although she's here for a little while I know it's only temporary so I'm just appreciating having an extra person in the house to talk to. I'm not sure if I mentioned this before but I intensely dislike being alone in the house for long periods of time. I like having people to talk to, otherwise I feel like I have so much to say but like no one to say it to. Drives me a little crazy, and I definitely start talking to myself...Anywho, I'm glad she's home. We've already gone for a couple bike/runs together where we get to talk and like bond and stuff - it's nice :) Oh, I should explain that it's a bike/run because my sister runs really far and so I bike beside her while she runs because not only can I not run very far (I think I only last about 10 or so minutes before I'm DONE) but I also can't talk very easily when I run cuz my cardio sucks. SO basically biking with her works out super well cuz she can talk while she runs and I can definitely talk while I bike. Yay for bike/runs :)

Let's see what else is new...well I'm officially dating someone, which I'm happy about! My mom even mentioned it the other night when she had a bunch of her girlfriends over and even though she sorta put me on the spot, I didn't even blush. Honest! I was pretty surprised myself :P Normally I blush about everything. Like I can remember blushing in the hallways when people would stop me to ask me something. I don't even know precisely why I was blushing, it was probably because I was worried about what everyone around me thought and I guess that's pretty embarrassing, thinking that everyone's watching you. Talk about pressure eh? Well, at least I survived right? Not unscathed but pretty much in one piece. And I got some awesome friends out of it ;P

Well, not too much else to report - oh I'm learning Blackbird in my guitar lessons, which I'm excited about. It's such a pretty song! In fact I think I'll go practice it right now.

So today I spent doing homework, mainly filming a series of videos for a class. I seem a little bored and tired in them, but what can you do? Other then that nothing much happened today.

As for life, well yesterday I went for my radiation planning. In that I had to actually get radioactive, like I spent an hour ( I was told, I didn't have any sense of actual time when I can't see a clock) having... OK I don't actually remember what it was. This was at 8 in the morning, and I had woken up at 7 after two bad nights of sleep so I was really out of it. But it was some radioactive solution that was needed for the scans. Any who I then was sent over to the PET scan station and waited until they were ready. I was lined up using a laser and then sent back and forth through a machine. This whole thing was harmless, well except for two things. First you CAN NOT MOVE. And that's really hard to do for 30/45 minuets. Like so much harder then I thought, I now have so much new found respect for the nude models I have to draw at school. Second there was a student who was no joke like two years older then us, and well they needed to lower my hospital gown and my breast were exposed, since my cancer is in my chest. Now it has happened before, with males in the room, and yes its humiliating. But it didn't bother me as much as it did the other day, I think its cause he was so close to our age, were as other times the doctors were a lot older. Oh and another thing I now have tattoo's. They're used to line me up each time I get radiation. They look like two blue freckles. I feel so rebellious!

OK I think that's all I wanted to talk about.

Blog from the very near past!

Hey y'all. I'm writing this at 11:49pm on Monday. Crazy, no??

I had this essay weighing on me for the past week, which I finished today. It's about Baruch Spinoza, the 17th century philosopher, and kind of why he differs from French philosopher René Descartes. I'm pretty happy with it- fingers crossed that my TA is also happy with it!

When I was like 75% of the way through, and kind of stuck, I had my computer read out what I had written, in its mechanical robot-y voice. It was pretty cool! It helped me find 4 or 5 typos, and it kind of make me realize where points were missing, or which sentences were extraneous, etc. Definitely going to do that again sometime (much to my mom's chagrin, who seemed to hate the voice).

I also finished this assignment that has to be done by Friday, so… ahead of the game! (Except that I'm behind on all the readings. All of them.)

In other news, I have a date on Friday. Like 99% sure it's a date. Dinner and drinks? Sounds like a date, right? It feels so grown-up, going on a date with a guy I don't even know that well. My dad said watch out for the date-rape drug so… I guess… uh I guess I will, but the guy seems nice. I guess it's always a good idea to be on the look-out for shady behaviour.

As most of you know (but Mars, I don't know if I told you this), I'm pretty committed to being single for second year. ("Single for Second Year" - it sounds nice. I should make buttons.) So as interested as I am in having this grown-up experience of going on a real date (like I said, 99% sure it's a date), I'm a little worried about how that will fit into my whole single thing, down the road. Not that I think I'm going to end up "going steady" (as they say in Archie comics) with this guy, but rather I worry about the precedent I'm setting for myself by agreeing to one date. Worries!

Worries shworries. I think I'll just try to enjoy it. :P

SORRRYYYYYY & International Dinner!

1. So, I completely missed blogging last week...and didn't even realize until Thursday! That just explains how hectic last week was :(

I'm so sorry for missing my blogging time! This week, I'm writing my blog in the morning so that there is no possible chance for me to be too busy and not have time to blog!

2. I'm still working on that poem that I promised...GET EXCITED :D

3. Last week on Friday, my school hosted the "International Dinner". This is an event that has been going on since 1990, and basically it represents all of the International students at my school. Although I'm only 6 hours away...I'm still considered International :p There are some students at my school who are from California, Colorado, Oklahoma, etc. and they are soooo much further away from school than I am, and I'm still considered International hahah.

There are students from over 20 countries attending my school: Canada (obviously the coolest :p), Argentina, Bolivia, Nicuragua, Australia, England, South Africa, Puerto Rico, Wales, China, Italy, Germany, Mongolia, Sweden, etc. (That's all that I can think of right now!)

Anyways, so for the International Dinner, there is a ton of International food, entertainment, and a fashion show. Every student is required to make a dish from their home country. There are three Canadians at my school this year so we all decided to make poutine. Let's just say, cooking in quantity to serve 250 people is VERY difficult...our poutine was good, but not as good as it could've been!

As for the entertainment, there were salsa dancers, violinists, and pianists. The performances were amazing!

And for the fashion show, everyone is supposed to wear something that represents their home country. I ended up getting my mom to mail me a hockey jersey to wear :P This was a Toronto Maple Leafs hockey jersey and was wayyyyy tooooo big for me. I was literally like a dress haha. Nonetheless, it was so interesting to see what everyone had to wear. The traditional dress in Bolivia was soo pretty. Sometimes I wish I grew up in a different time period or in a different country just because their cultures seem so different? But I'm sure if I did that, then I would want to be Canadian. Grass is always greener on the other side? Haha the nice thing with Canada is that we're so diverse as it is, so we represent so many cultures :)

Oh ps. on Friday, it was 11/11/11...I really hope everyone made an epic wish, because I know that I sure did! hahah :)

Ladies and Gentemen

Good afternoon Ladies and gentlemen!

Well this week has been....interesting to say the least. Now, to my post from last week. Well I can safely say that I have been put off drinking a whole 2-6er BY MYSELF in under an hour and a half. I was 3 sheets to the wind, by 1030pm. Why I did it? Well I have been really stressed the past little while, and I just kind of wanted to let loose. I totally don't remember a thing, and I feel like in a way I think I should be glad that I can't remember anything. So I mean I'm not feeling great about loosing control, but I think I had to do it to just get it out of my system. And I feel bad for my friends that tried to help but I just totally rejected their help. But I know that I have done something wrong, and will admit to that.

Anyway, on another note I went to the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair this week on Wednesday with my mother. I had a lot of fun as I always do with my mum and I totally emptied my bank account. Ha-ha. I bought so much stuff for my non-existent horse....LOL. I bought a halter, a beautiful figure 8 bridle nose band, ANOTHER saddle pad, polo wraps....lord help me. My mum just shook her head every time I bought something else. Haha. Oh well...At least I'll be ready when I get my own horse!!
Anyway, We also went to the horse show which was also so cool as always. This year there as dressage in the dark. (For the people who might not know what dressage it's like making the horse look like it's dancing. They look all pretty with their heads down, the their dancing in a graceful and beautiful way.) Dressage in the dark meant that the whole arena was in darkness, and the horses were all decked out in LED lights. The riders weren't, but it was so cool. It looked like there was no one on the horse, and they were just doing the movements all on their own, not to mention with the lights they were wearing, it looked like they were floating around the arena, without touching the ground.

After seeing that, awards were giving out to jumpers, and 6 and 4 horse hitches which were really cool to see. There was also a retirement ceremony for Jill Henselwoods horse "Special Ed", who is being retired after almost 10 years of show jumping.

On a sadder note, last weekend the equestrian community lost a hero. Eric Lamaze's horse, Hickstead, collapsed and died over the weekend from a ruptured valve in his heart after completing a 13 jumping course in Verona Italy. Hickstead was a beautiful horse, such a joy to watch. He was only 15 when he died. Hickstead came to Eric in a time of need, and helped him overcome many different difficult obstacles. Hickstead helped Eric Lame win a silver medal in team show jumping in the 2008 summer Olympics, and also won the first ever gold medal in individual show jumping for Canada. At the Royal on Wednesday night, they had a tribute to Hickstead, and Eric Lamaze revived a standing ovation when he rode out on Herald 3. This was his second ride since the horrible event on Saturday. It was so heart warming, and you could tell that people were really moved by both the tribute, and the performance with his ride.

Although he didn't win, Scotland's Scott Brash with his horse Bon Ami won in the jumpoff with 0 faults. All in all I thought it was a great show. The Royal's own jumper set-up crew made arm-bands for them and the other riders to wear in honor of Hickstead's Memory, which were made public a day after they first appeared in the ring. I was lucky enough to snag one of them, and will proudly wear it whenever I get the chance too.

Anyway, Ladies and gentlemen I shall let you all get back to whatever you were doing before you started reading my rambles and babbles. And I should get back to my class....

Haha, this whole time I've been sitting in class writing, and babbling on while my teacher is talking about Guest Services. Anyway I shall hopefully see you all next for another episode of "Mars's Exciting Life". Haha.

Visiting the old high school still feels weird...

Whew! I almost forgot to blog :P And look at that it's only 10:30pm I still got like and hour and a half.

Alrighty well this week has been just okay, not feeling super awesome though I actually have been having fun hanging out with my friends, I've just been struggling with some personal stuff :( which always sucks, am I right?

Anywho, something exciting that happened earlier this week was visiting Northern with Lee and another friend. It was waaaaaay weird to go back - so many memories. Like SO many memories. It's hard to wrap my head around the whole "I spent four years of my life there" its craziness! I was totally freaking out while I was there, Lee can back me up on that. We walked past a couple of my old lockers and our old lunch spot and our old hangout spot for spare. We even got to visit with our old music teacher (we all took music), which was super nice because everyone loves her! She caught us up on some of the school gossip and she had her grade nine strings class perform some of the songs they're working on for the concert for us, which was actually super fun. You know, I kinda miss music. It was an awesome class, so much energy and fun! Even if I was super awks socially :S It was a pretty good visit all in all. Oh yea, I also met this teacher who a bunch of people told me had some of the same mannerisms as me. And OMG they were totally right :O it was so bizarre. She kept doing things or saying things (within the span of like 3 minutes, we only talked to her for a second in the front hall) that I TOTALLY do or say. Like I said, it was bizarre :P Lee can back me up on that one too.

Oh! Also in guitar lessons I'm just starting to learn "Finger plucking blues". Which I think is hilarious - can you guys picture me pluckin out some 'ole blues tunes? Haahha its gonna be epic when I actually learn a song. For now we're just starting to learn how to pluck the base with our thumb and the melody with our other fingers. Fairly difficult, not surprisingly. S'gonna take some practicing that's for sure!!

Hey Guys!

I've been feeling awesome as of late. Well kinda still in a bit of a funk but hopefully I'll be able to vent to some peeps soon about said funk. But I mean I do feel better since our Halloween party last Friday. I really did miss hanging out with friends. Oh and I dressed up as Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma, everyone but one person thought it was funny so I say-- costume success!

So this week I finally went back to school after missing two weeks straight (keep in mind my classes are only Monday and Tuesday) and I must admit i felt really anxious ahead of time. Not because I was worried about what my teachers would say but because I was so behind, even though for a good reason. Side note. OMG really raining and heads starting to really hurt. OK side note over. What I struggle with the most about having cancer is dealing with body and mind coordination. What I mean by that can be seen in my falling 2 weeks behind in school, mentally I'm there and ready to do all of my homework on time. But physically, I just can't do that. I've spent a lot of my time on the couch, not because I'm lazy but because physically its even hard to sit at my computer and go on Facebook or something. But with the passing of chemo brings energy increase!!!

Like today, I went shopping at a fairly large mall. In the past I would need to sit down every few sections or so, sometimes I and a family member would just sit in a central location while others ran errands. But today I did the whole thing only to sit down to try on shoes, which after about 5 pairs I didn't purchase any though I have decided on which to buy. But I am really proud of my self for well shopping today, because I've had some really scary moments but today reminded me that I am getting better.

OK so I don't know how to segway into this, but I'm going to write it anyway. On Monday I am two weeks behind my classmates, though like I said for good reason. Now in this class each week we present our work and get critiqued. And well I had nothing to show other then sketches which I didn't put up because well you only put up finished pieces (though for this project its two weeks of roughs.) Anyway my teacher did a one on one session and started with me because frankly I need it most at the moment. Then after we talk, my teacher moves around the room and I begin the work, a guy gets up and obviously ( though attempting to be subtle about it-- OK maybe obvious to me) tries to see what I'm doing. And well its none of his business why I'm two weeks behind! Also I handed in an assignment on Monday that was due three weeks ago, but since I was meant to work on it during a chemo week I got an extension. Anyway the guy as I was talking to my teacher after class picked up my assignment to look at it!!! I dunno, it bothers me but not too much.

Final thing, yesterday I realized that I have no crushes. Like I normally seem to be crushing on someone, but for the first time in a long time I'm actually crushless. Which to be honest feels really good, and I guess part of why I've been feeling so great lately. In a weird way not crushing on anyone makes me feel somewhat stronger. I dunno.

OK off to do a bit more homework before bed.

Adventure is out there!

Oh my goodness, we are kind of slacking on this blog thang. Except you Miah. :P

Today was a pretty sweet day. I switched my work schedule so instead of going in at 9 today (as I have to do every Wednesday), I only had to go in at 2pm. So I slept in, had a big breakfast, watched Glee and New Girl… leisurely stuff. I left around 1pm, did my one hour of class, and then chilled with my friend for the rest of the afternoon/night, because I had to stay on campus for Taekwondo which was at 9.

Chilling with my friend was a lot of fun. I've steered pretty clear of guys for the past few months, determined to have an uneventful second year. But just in the past couple of weeks they've started closing in on me :P (Yes, THEY. As in multiple people. Oh my goodness.) So chilling with my (guy) friend was like… the first time I let myself do anything overtly flirtatious and fun in a long time. Needless to say, it was great to just chill and laugh, in a kind of I-know-that-you-know-that-I-know-that-you-like-me way. If that makes sense.

Then taekwondo was good. Not too vigorous, which was good since I'm just getting over a gum infection now. Lots of technique practicing today. Then I got a drive home- WOOOOO!!!

A weekend full of laughing, dancing and SPARKLES

Woo Hoo Halloween Weekend!!
Mars pretty much mentioned everything that happened already cuz I'm preeeetty sure I spent the whole weekend plus thursday night with her :P It was SICK. And yes we were temporarily party animals, dancing the night away in a bar is definitely the best!
I didn't dress up Thursday night but there were actually a lot of people dressed up in crazy costumes and technically it was "pajama night" at the bar we were at but we didn't know, which I told the bartender loudly when we got heckled for it :P I have to say though I reaaally like the music they played there, it was such an awesome mix of great rock songs and some sweet dance music like top hits and stuff. I was havin a blast dancing all night with Mars :)

Then Friday like she said there was a guy dressing up as the Dr. from Rocky Horror and it was quite entertaining to help him get on the corset and then see the final product with his little skirt and fishnets haha. I thought it was pretty ballsy of him to go all the way downtown but I guess there would probs be a lot of peeps dressed up all crazy for a movie like that - I mean, it is a cult classic!

So it wasn't till Saturday night that I dressed up for Halloween and it was SUCH a fun night :D I wore a purple sparkly top, sparkly tights and I got a friend to spray sparkles in my hair and put sparkles around my eyes (before the eyeliner went on I couldn't even see my eyelashes it made my eyes look so round and foreign - can you relate Miah?) it was awesome!! It was actually pretty funny because all night I kept getting sparkles on everyone, like when I was dancing and the lights swept past I could see this cloud of sparkly dust all around me :P Epic, am I right? Also the guy I'm seeing (who's name I won't be posting :P) at one point I had my head on his shoulder and then afterwards I turned to say something and saw that there were sparkles literally ALL over his coat - whoops! :P There's still sparkles all over the back and hood of my jacket, I'm thinking they're gonna be there for a while.

This year I got to do something I don't normally have the chance to do; I got to dress up twice with TWO different costumes! So Saturday night I was a sparkle girl and then Monday night I was a mobster, complete with the bowler hat and tommy gun (made out of cardboard :P). I really liked being able to dress up in two different costumes, especially because it would have been a lot to do the sparkle costume twice haha. And I'm not sure Mars would have appreciated me getting sparkles all over her living room. We spent Monday night watching Amityville Horror at her place and let me just say it is pretty freakin scary! I was hiding behind my little cardboard gun for most of the movie...BUT I made it through, I survived another horror film! Plus it was the new one so it's supposedly scarier right? Aren't the new ones like more intense and stuff? Watevs I'm proud for not dying of fright :P

But I have to say the best part about this week is gonna be dressing up AGAIN tmr night and getting to see most of you guys to celebrate Halloween together! You'll get to see my mobster costume! :)

So that was my weekend, super fun and filled with laughing and dancing and SPARKLES :P

Unfortunately today I haven't actually been feeling all that great :( not entirely sure why but I have some theories one of them has to do with it being that time of the month :P But you know, thinking about my weekend and realizing that in 24 hrs I'll be dressing up again feels pretty good :)
Boooo for all that studying you have to do Sari, it sounds stressful! Yay for no more midterms Lee, and looking forward to seeing most of you tmr night! I'll be sad you aren't here Sari :( But hoping you're having a good weekend in Ohio

An Unforgetable Halloween

So this time round I actually have something to blog about!
Ok first lets start of with my day. Today my big cousin came over to hang out with me and its a lot of fun when she does. She's more like a sister then a cousin to me really, cause I tell her a lot and she tells me a lot. It's weird though cause we're so close but we're 10 years apart while my other girl cousins are only 9 months,a year, and 4 years younger yet I couldn't be more distant from them. I mean she and I are a lot alike its creepy sometimes. Anyway I could go on but I won't. Oh but I do want to mention something. So over the past few years I've been becoming very skeptical and annoyed by my extended family. While it's something that I know is normal I've chosen to let those feelings slide and just enjoy my time with them because I really don't see them often.
Anyway my Halloween will be one I will never forget. Its started Thursday (well technically Monday... but Thursday is more significant) when I woke up with an armpit bruise. Bet you didn't see that coming! Yeah, I spent Halloween weekend in the hospital, can you say partay? Anyway long story short got admitted Saturday night and forty something minuets from Halloween I received my second blood transfusion, the first one I got was in September when I was in the hospital last time. The transfusion went well, it even ended at 2:20 am! Since 2 and 20 are my lucky numbers I was pleased with this. So it turned out that my bruised armpit is a sign of the infection I have (not contagious... I don't think, well I'm on meds so it should be fine, and when you guys see me Friday just don't touch my pit.) The doctors even said getting a bruise in my pit is uncommon. So yeah that was my Halloween. I did go home Monday but didn't do anything to celebrate. We only had 2 kids show up and a douche bag of a woman (she was 20+ banking on the fact that people are too nice to not give her candy, but my mom slammed the door in her face.) But I'm excited for Friday since it'll be the only way for me to celebrate one of my favourite holidays of the year!
Next thing, I'm registered to do NaNoWriMo this year, but I am so far failing since I have yet to write a single word. What sucks is that I don't know that I'll be able to write at all this month just because I am really far behind in school now and my energy level is so low that writing 1000+ words a day seems to hard. But I'll try when I can and when I feel like it.
Sari good luck reading the Odyssey, its a book I know I've heard of... but nothing more then that registers in my mind.
Lee I'm glad your mid-terms are done and now you can partay with me!

Finished my last midterm today. YUSS. It didn't go great but it didn't go terribly.

Watching Glee while blogging; gotta cram in the non-school stuff while I can.

Halloween was not bad; dressed up to give pop away to kids. And studied. Recycled a costume from 2006.

Ok haha I can't focus. Multitasking never works! Liking the accent on Glee. But i dunno the dialogue is weird as always. After this maybe I'll watch Merlin and how I met Your Mother. Like I said, gotta cram in the fun stuff.

I'm excited for the Halloween thing on Friday; it will be good to finally celebrate! Oh wow a voice-over by Puck. It's been a while since we've had voice overs.

It's FINALLY Halloween

So today is officially HALLOWEEN! I'm pretty sure I've blogged something about Halloween for the last three weeks and now it is finally here. CRAZINESS!!! One of my professors handed out mini KitKat bars and was in costume..it was legit! But other than that, there hasn't been too much of a Halloween celebration today.

The sad thing is that my halloween has not been too eventful :( Over the weekend I went to one of my friend's houses and we watched halloween movies and ate a ton of candy but other than that I just did homework. Ughhhh. Study, study, study, study. I'm currently reading the Odyssey for my World Lit class which is surprisingly better than I had expected. It probably sounds nerdy but I'm excited to finish this book..just so that I can say that I read the Odyssey. I told my mom that I was planning on framing the Iliad and the Odyssey and have it as a memory that I was able to read through the books. However, she just laughed at me and told me I was weird. Maybe it's just me but they are hard books to read, so this is definitely my accomplishment for this year :p

This was a short blog but I really need to get back to reading this book haha. I'm thinking that for my next blog I'm going to write a poem of some sort...so get excited! (but not too excited because I'm not really good at creative things, but I thought it would be worth trying!)

Late late late late post!!

Hi boys and girls!
I realize my blog day was friday, but I got caught up in a lot of things this weekend. Haha, I totally forgot! Oops.:S The Best part is that I reminded Evie on Thursday night, and I forgot to blog Friday. Bahaha short term memory? I think sooo. Haha. Anyway I had an exciting couple of nights! Haha, I went out Thursday, Friday, AND Saturday night! Holy cow! As my friend would say "I have turned into a party animal!"

We went out dancing on thursday and that was a blast! The only down side was some guy dumped half his beer down my side, but whatever. I got over it, and it dried quickly. Friday night, I helped my friend get ready for Rocky Horror Picture show, and did his corset up. What an interesting start of my friday night. Then we sat and talked the night away. Which was nice.=) And saturday was interesting. My friend had a house party, and I guess the people he didn't let in made a scene outside his house and Police were called. It was exciting. And guess who was suppose to oversee this party. Yours truly. Although I had left to go out to a bar I was suppose to go back to check on him. Although later I did end up calling him to make sure everything was ok. And it sort of was....a kicked in backdoor is about as bad as it got. Haha, his mom will hopefuly take the news well....=P

Anyway, needless to say it was an interesting weekend. Currently I am sitting in Math class, supposedly working on math homework...oh well.;P
Haha Anyway friends I must go! This time I will post on time on friday. Haha, So I will see you promptly on friday evening hopefully! Haha

I came to Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance!!

Late post! You're not really surprised though are you? :P

Well I had a pretty exciting night last night! I went out to a bar with some friends (Mars included :D) and we danced the night away and it was fantastic!! I really love dancing - something I've realized the more I go out dancing with friends. It's like most of the time I'm super shy and awkward, and yes sometimes I can feel awkward while dancing too, but often if I just close my eyes and feel the heavy (and deafeningly loud) back beat I can just lose it and it feels so good! There's something about letting my body just bop and bump around to the music that feels awesome. Then again I usually can't totally lose it till I've had a few drinks :P Seriously you guys should try it sometime. And the nice thing about going out dancing is that it's dark and nobody cares if I look stupid dancing around - also I don't necessarily care either so there!
Anywho it was a fun-filled night with just a touch of major drama at the end to round things out, so all in all I would say it was a successful night :)

I have some more fun news - I finally found a sparkly top to pull of the Glitter Girl costume idea I had (I'm changing it from Glitter Queen cuz i dont really have a crown and also Glitter Girl sounds cool :P)! It's also purple which I though adds some real pizazz! I also bought some sparkly tights and some glitter for my face and some spray glitter for my hair. It's gonna be sweet.

So Halloween is this weekend! How exciting :D There were some plans to go out Saturday night but I'm kind of poor now, I've been spending a lot of money lately plus I just found out that I'm like way over on my cellphone bill so I have to pay my parents back for that :S So Saturday plans may change...But I'm still dressing up! And I'm also gonna dress up as a mobster on Monday, for our Halloween movie night - woohoo scary movies! I'm probs gonna be hiding behind the couch the whole night hahah :P Someone's gonna have to hold my hand!

Oh! Something out of the ordinary happened earlier this week, I went to check out the College Fair downtown. It's out of the ordinary because up until now I haven't felt any spark of interest about going back to school. I mean, I always knew I wanted to eventually but I took a second year off because I knew I wasn't ready for it yet. But then last weekend I was talking to Rae about school and she mentioned this fair. I think it was the combination of hearing about this film class she's taking and hearing about the decisions she's making about school sort of got me thinking about it again and I started getting curious about the programs offered at colleges and stuff. So I went to the fair imagining myself picking a part-time course I could take at a college in the city but I actually came out of it thinking that in my current mindset and knowing my current needs I'm much more likely to take a course at a University. The way my mom put it was, College is more about going to school for a specific career and coming out of it with a job lined up whereas University is a little more about exploring what you like, it's less hands on and you don't necessarily have a job lined up after. Like my sister just graduated University and isn't having the easiest time finding a job. So I'm thinking I'd like to try out some film courses at a University like one or two courses and then I'll see how that goes. I definitely don't want to overwhelm myself with school cuz that's how high school felt and it was awful :( Ima just take my time and find out what I want and like in school so that I start to actually enjoy it :) Like the film class I took in grade 12. Which is the reason I want to take another film course.

ANYwho, that's all the new stuff in my life for now! I'll let you guys know how my Halloween weekend goes and you'll have to update me on YOURS :P

Lameness

Yeah for technology, don't feel like going up to my room to type this and I need to take medicine in a little while so yeah...

Anyways I can't believe I'm finally done chemo! Easily one of the best moments of my life! Like I've said to some other people really words can not describe how I feel about finishing my chemo, it really is just awesome. I now have to start the radiation part of my treatment, but I get a break from the whole thing for a while.

Other then that nothing much is going on in my life, I've really just been chilling at home trying to stay on top of homework and getting better. Ach sorry this is post is lame and sorry that they've been lame but it's kinda how I feel about my life. Well not that it's lame just what I do is kinda lame, but I mean it's what I need to do now so it won't be lame.
