Evie's Big Night Out

Alright so tmr wasn't exactly accurate or anything, but hey! At least I remembered before Monday, am I right? :P
So on Friday, now that I'm ninteen, I went to a bar with my sister. First I just want to mention that I saw Beastly on Friday too and it was pretty kwl :) I was totally surprised by Mary-Kate Olsen, I really like her acting/character. She sorta stood out as one of the better actors in the film, which I suppose makes sense because she's been behind the camera since she was like two. ANYwho, onto my adventures at the bar. At first we were gonna go clubbing but then we were both tired and my sister wanted to go see Beastly at 7:10 so we ended up just going to the bar right after the movie. Hah, it sounds so chills doesn't it? "Oh yea, I was just at the theater and now I'm heading over to the bar...no big." :P I know, I'm kwl.
Right, so we went to this bar nearish my house and sat down to be served. The first strange thing that happened was that the woman who came to serve us told us it was actually a 21 and over bar (whoops!) and that I must've just gotten here before the bouncer because after 9:00 pm (it was 9:15 pm) they don't let anyone under 21 into the bar. So that was kind of embarrassing, because the only reason my age came up was because this was like a post-bday celebration. You know, finally turning nineteen, but then there was that totally awkward pause after she said the over 21 bar thing...preeeeetty sure my face was all red. Like I said, embarrassing :P BUT the nicest thing, she said she had no problem serving me alcohol because I was of age, she just said that it was the bar's policy. So nice! Right? So I ordered my cranberry vodka and we waited for my sister's friend. The kwl thing about chatting while you drink is that you get more and more into the conversation, like super absorbed ya know? So it was kind of a surprise when this random older guy walks up and says "Can we join you? We can't find seats" gesturing to a woman behind him who I assumed was his lady-friend. Now I use the term lady-friend because they were older (like grandparent older - or at least the guy was) not because I use it all the time. Anyway, WOah! Does this normally happen in bars? My sister and I answered yes of course, but I was secretly wondering what the bar etiquette was, sitting with strangers and such. I was thinking maybe it was only for creepers who were trying to hit on a certain girl or guy. Wrong-O! It turns out these two people had only met briefly at this dance bar nearby and had just randomly met in the doorway here. They ended up being very nice and providing us with some amusing conversation. The guy had some fun stories and stuff. Like I said, very nice. Mentally I checked off 'Meet random person in bar' from my list of Things To Do In A Bar That Make You Cool, also adding Cool points to my Cool-o-meter. My level of coolness sky-rocketed that night :P
Anywho, eventually my sister's friend showed up and we paid for our drinks so we could go watch the live music near the front (I checked off 'Go to bar with good live music' from my list). My sister's friend was super nice and bought me a drink for my belated birthday, amazing! (I don't think I paid for one drink that night :P) So then we were standing by the bar bobbing to the music, chatting (very difficult to do in a bar, it turns out, when standing so close to the stage) and drinking, when this guy leans over and says, or yells really, it was quite loud, "I have a bet with my mate here that you two are sisters!" Pretty smooth, I mentally checked off 'Get hit on with use of random pick-up line in a bar' from my list.
So we end up meeting his 'mate' who was Mexican (the first guy was from New Zealand - yes he did have a shark tooth necklace on. No seriously, he did). I'm not sure if they were actually best friends like they kept saying, because the guy from Mexico leaned over at one point to tell me "I can't understand a single word he says!" I remain skeptical. In any case they were both very drunk and the Mexican guy kept trying to dance with me (I checked off 'Get asked to dance in a bar' from my list) eventually buying me a drink ('Guy buys you a drink in a bar') which I agreed to without hesitation. Free alcohol? Alright! :P Don't worry guys, I could see him ordering so he couldn't slip me something or wtvr. By then I was a little freaked out, having never been hit on at a bar before and being totally uninterested in the guy, I was kind of done with the situation. So after a couple more sips of my free drink, my sister, her friend and I headed back over to our seats, saved by the couple we had chatted with earlier. Hey, it pays to make friends at a bar, they watch your stuff while you dance! Or get hit on near the bar, whatever :P By then it was almost midnight and my sister had some stomach pains so I downed my drink and we headed out, saying goodbye to all our new friends on the way to the door :D We walked to the subway and said goodbye to my sister's very nice friend (did I mention how nice she is?) who was going the opposite way on the trains.
My last adventure of the night was by far the funniest. We were walking home from the subway and I was still pretty tipsy from that last drink and thought it would be a good idea, after crossing the street, to step on the ice to hop up onto the sidewalk, oh my god talk about bad ideas. I totally slipped and sprawled on my face ('Fall on my face after being in a bar' check!). :P It was like a slow motion fall, like a dance move, I had my arm out to the side to catch me and my leg spazzing out in front of me, doing me no good really. I got a little mud on my pants and top, but it was totally worth it because I laughed so hard after wards. I just remember sitting on my knee with my hand in the mud and snow thinking that I was a lot closer to the ground all of the sudden and that the world was at a funny angle. Hilarious! :D Good thing I still had some alcohol in me. I didn't feel a thing! Amazing, no?
Well that's the end of my awesome bar adventure, during which I crossed off a good number of things from my list of Things To Do In A Bar That Make You Cool.

Okay, now that you are all bored to tears, or you just skipped down to the end for the Friday question because it's faster and less boring (I don't blame you! :P) I will reveal the Friday Question!
What sort of lists do you guys have in your head? Or do you....if not just make one up and then you can use it in the future! Tell me what things you want to do, either in a bar or with friends or in university, whatever you want.
I'll tell you more of mine next week!
Ttfn
Evie :D
