Last week(ish) I started reading A Million Little Pieces by James Frey this book amazes me. Every page makes me more thankful of the life that I have. The basics of the book are that James Frey (yes it is an autobiography and I am not reading it for school) was heavily addicted to alcohol and crack and one day found himself in rehab. I could never imagine half the stuff he describes and it really happened to him. Reading books of this nature force me to look at my life, I mean truly look at my life and most of the time I realise that for all the times that I say “my life sucks!” it really does not. I have a roof over my head, food in the fridge, a family that loves me and amazing friends who are there for me…
Well on that note I don’t have much else to say so have a good week and think about this book and what James Frey experienced next time you decide your life sucks.
Till next time,
Rae <3
Rather uncomfortably, I feel obliged to bring up the whole "hoax" thing, you know, Oprah-duping fabrication of stuff in the book.
ReplyDeleteIf Frey didn't experience everything in the book, does that make it all less credible- does it diminish the strength of the message?
