"At this time, your roommate for the upcoming year has agreed to release their name and email address to you so that you may contact them prior to the beginning of the academic year."
Armed with her email address and name, I quickly found the girl in question on Facebook. Like really quickly. I added her, and she sent me a message saying she was happy to have me as her roommate! Oh the warm fuzzies I got from that. :)
She also said the whole thing was surreal. And I have to agree. I can't believe it's really happening! Less than a month from now, I'll be in a dorm with a roommate, going to class (on "campus", how exciting), using my meal plan, and living the university experience.
My predominant exposure to university life has been through movies. But I know that no movie that's been made will mirror my experiences fully, because they will be unique, through good and bad.
No stress though; it won't help. Only healthy anticipation. I'm going to have to make a list soon of what to bring to my new room!
